Photos and Description of the Rother vacation cottage rental A self-catering let with all mod-cons and sandy beach nearby ideal for families

This traditionally designed, two-bedroomed, holiday cottage is situated in the lovely New Hampshire style Whitesand development, in the heart of Romney Marsh. It is less than five minutes' walk from one of the UK's finest sandy beaches and three miles from the picturesque, historic town of Rye. There are good rail links from Rye, including London (now less than an hour) and France can easily be reached from Dover, Folkstone and Lydd Airport. The property is decorated in airy coastal shades and newly furnished in a traditional style to accentuate a beach house feel. French doors open onto a decked, pebble garden, where you can relax with a BBQ or if you prefer you may stroll to a nearby popular restaurant/bar, 'The Place'. The cottage is an ideal base for families, which has all the home comforts desired and a special location.

This is an ideal location for beach lovers as it is only a brief walk to the stunning beach at Camber Sands with the natural beauty of the dunes and golden sand. Under three miles away the medieval town of Rye overlooks the coast and marshland. With its cobbled streets, fascinating old buildings and array of interesting shops and restaurants it is an essential place to visit. Many other popular tourist attractions are located in '1066 Country', including castles and other places of historic interest: it is a short drive to Battle where the Battle of Hastings was fought and special events take place. Hastings itself is a short train ride from Rye or less than 30 minutes' drive, for traditional seaside attractions. Various other historic and seaside towns are accessible along the East Sussex and Kent coastlines, where steam trains still 'puff' and there are also several farms and animal parks. Whilst the new Javelin trains from Ashford mean London is less than an hour by train from Rye.

[May 08] '... we enjoyed our stay...in your comfortable and well equipped house, very much. Although the weather could be better we were away each day. We do like South East England very much and will come again. Brigit and Gert.' [June 08] 'Your cottage was very beautiful. We spent a magnificent and amazing stay. We had sunny weather even if we thought to need jackets and umbrellas! My son, 16, loved London... ' Christine [July 08]

Lovely, clean, well equipped cottage, superb beach

Review Submitted: September 4, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
Whitesand Cottage is clean, extremely well equipped, contemporary and comfortable, and exactly as described on the website. The location is quiet and within easy walking distance of a fabulous sandy beach. The pebbled beach further up the road is excellent for wind-surfing and kite-boarding, both for spectating and participating! Camber is not extensive, but the historic and quaint town of Rye is a short drive and is well worth a visit. We particularly enjoyed a meal at "Webbes at the Fish Cafe", and sat downstairs in the cafe with our children - food, service and atmosphere were all excellent. The Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway trip was a fun experience for the kids, running from Dungeness (a truly weird place!) to Hythe and back again with a trip to the museum at Romney. Overall, we enjoyed a relaxing and comfortable break, and will definitely return. Thank you.

what a relaxing weekend

Matt44 London
Review Submitted: July 16, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
Arrived and everything was taken care of. The cottage was spacious and within walking distance of the beach, shops, cafes etc. Played boardgames, had a bbq, went on numerous walks and relaxed at the beach. Went for a weekend and felt as refreshed as a two week vacation upon return. Would definitely go again and would highly recommend as a place to stay.

After a long day of travelling, it was wonderful to find such a lovely cottage, beautifully clean and with everything you could need for the stay.
Well thoughtout, with the guest in mind. We enjoyed breakfast on the patio, in the spring sunshine and the beach was perfect.
Thank you
