Fantastic location. A just a short walk along the pristine white sandy beach to a few beach restaurants and bars. Shops are nearby.
Very nice condo, location was great. Walked to Caddie's and Ka Tiki. The beach was beautiful and the pool was a great alternative. An older crowd at the condo development which was fine, no Spring Breakers to deal with. All were extremely friendly and helpful!
DeSoto Park is a great destination - we went kayaking and had two dolphins swim right by us in a cove as well as stingrays and lots of birds. The beaches there were beautiful, lots of parking, bathrooms, food, etc.
Just a few observations, nothing to deter from our week - the carpet in the condo was a little worn. We were surprised to find one of the two baths downstairs - that could have been a misunderstanding from our part. We expected to have a bathroom attached to both upstairs bedrooms but we managed!
Weather was a little cooler than we had hoped for but at least we missed the latest snowstorm back home!
The unit we stayed in was decorated nicely, however I probably would not stay here again. The unit needs some work. The front screen door is falling off of the hinges and does not close properly. The dishwasher is falling out of the enclosure and the door is bent. Almost all of the screens have holes in them. The beach chairs were broken. The doors on both bathrooms do not close properly. The sheets felt like hotel room verses like a home. One of the elevators was out of service and had been for two weeks prior to our visit. The keys for the elevator were hidden under the candle holder and did not have a blue string attached. We did get locked out one night. I called Liz and left a message right after we arrived and she never responded. I would not recommend this unit.
We enjoyed ourselves greatly at the condo, nice neighbors, great location, well equipped condo. Beach was wonderful, and we could see beautiful sunrises out the back of the condo over the waterway and beautiful sunsets out the front. The dolphins swimming by each day were always a treat.
The only improvements I would recommend to the property are: put reading lamps on the end tables or a floor lamp so you can read at night in the living room. Also, in the master bedroom, there are lamps, but nowhere to plug them in.
We thoroughly enjoyed shelling on the beach, relaxing on the private balcony and watching the sunsets.
My wife and I, and my 3-yr old son, met my parents here for a week vacation. The location was perfectly situated to walk to Caddy's and stroll the beach. Very clean with fair internet connection. They had a LCD TV, which is always nice. Still don't understand how in 2014 owners refuse this commodity. Wide beaches with plenty of room to spread out. At the top of the condo complex, you got to see lots of dolphins and beautiful sunsets.
We are from Chicago & booked our trip & flights on Sept. 30th, 2014. We were supposed to fly out of Chicago on Superbowl Sunday to Tampa however our flight was cancelled due to the huge snow storm LINUS in Chicago. I advise anyone to buy the trip insurance through ITRIP. We were lucky & our flight was rebooked for Monday at 6am to Miami & all we had to do was drive over to Tampa. Trip insurance is a must. This condo was nice it is on the 6th floor. You will park your car underneath the building. You will take an elevator up to the 6th floor the top floor and then walk down a long outdoor hallway to your room 602. There is no lighting at night in the hallway so make sure you have a flashlight ready to see. You must be in by 10pm or you will need an elevator key to get back upstairs. It was provided. Day 1 the pool was not heated, Day 2 a repair man was out & by day 3 the pool was heated & warm. My son is 5 and swam loved it. This condo has four beach towels & about six beach chairs to use on the beach. We left the chairs in our rental car after each use so we would not have to carry them up & down each time we went to the beach. They have grocery carts provided near the dumpsters. Very smart to have a grocery cart available for use for luggage, chairs, & groceries to bring up to the 6th floor. Inside the condo we were told a bachelor party had just left and by the smell of entering the condo & poor cleaning we could tell something went on. $100 cleaning fee is high when you get there & it is dirty. There were rings on the tables, dirty silverware put back in the drawers, & a smell. We had to clean this place before using this place. The stairs that lead upstairs to the two bedrooms is very steep. At least 20 steep stairs to climb up to get upstairs to sleep. The condo only has one TV on the main floor & that was not accommodating. Both bathrooms have shower stalls. Never used the 1st floor shower it has a leaky faucet. The kitchen has the smallest dishwasher. The microwave worked great hot food in seconds. There is an icemaker on the fridge so you will have ice for the cooler that is provided. Blankets in the master bedroom smelled of body odor. The washer and dryer are $1.50 in quarters a piece with NO Change machine. Balcony was the best part see the Gulf sunsets, dolphins swimming, view is so beautiful. Shelling on beach every AM found sand dollars, star fish. St. Johns Pass park in the parking garage and avoid any parking ticket. Get the GROUPER
The condo itself and location were absolutely amazing. However in the master bedroom upstairs the sliding door whistled, clanked and banked (mind you it was windy, but still was banging at like 7mph winds) which lead to not much sleep during the night. The condo was clean, and super spacious. We had a wonderful time! The view was breathtaking , and the shell picking right out on the beach was awesome!
