My 2 best friends and myself went to Dublin to celebrate our 50th Birthday's together. Choosing this apartment was a GREAT experience from the first email I sent to enquire about it. Grainne answered all my emails almost as fast as I could write them, and gave us wonderful ideas when planning our trip. She arranged for us to be fetched from the airport when we arrived. We were so taken back when the door was opened, each and every room was so beautifully decorated. We had a bottle of champagne waiting for us along with fresh bread and flowers. On the coffee table was a notebook full of information with everything from transportation(with the bus number), to local pubs. The location was perfect for us. We came and went at all times of day and night and always felt our apartment was secure. The luas (red line tram) was a 5 minute walk.
it is only minutes from Guinness Brewery, Phoenix Park, Memorial Park, Jamestown Distillery, and Drimnagh Castle and James Hosptial.
Dublin Castle, Christchurch Cathedral, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Museum of Natural History, Temple Bar and Trinity College are all a short hop away on the Luas Tram. The Luas stop is 5 mins from the apartment and Heuston train station is 10 minutes.
Situated on the main N7 route to the city centre, it is close to M50 and N4 allowing easy access to the surrounding countryside. There is an abundance of golf courses surrounding with City West, Hermitage very close. The K Club, where the Ryder Cup was played in 2007 is a 35 minute drive, Carton Golf and country club is also 30 mins. The designer outlet centre in Kildare town is a 40 min drive or train journey away. Surrounding race courses such as Punchestown, The Curragh, Fairyhouse and Leopardstown are all within easy reach. Castletown House in Celbridge is also 30 mins drive.
Dublin City Bus',which services downtown Dublin, stops outside the door . This route will take you via James’s St where Guinness Brewery is located, onto High St. where you can experience” Dublina” and the Viking world, visit Christchurch and St. Patrick’s Cathedral’s or continue on to Dame St. where you can visit Dublin Castle, the Gaiety Theatre, Trinity College, Temple Bar and Grafton St.
There are a wealth of restaurants on Dame St. and just off it, on George’s St.
This bus journey can take approx 10/15 minutes depending on traffic and time of day.
We are also on the Luas (tram) red line with the nearest stop a 4/5 minute walk.
The Luas will bring you to Heuston Station and Connolly Station (Dublin’s main train stations), presenting the opportunity for a day trip to Cork, Galway or Belfast.
The Luas also stops at the National Museum of Decorative Arts, the Jamestown Distillery and of course into Abbey St. which is adjacent to O'Connell St.
