Photos and Description of the Alcossebre vacation apartment rental
A wonderful relaxing holiday awaits you

A lovely apartment and bungalow set in a small exclusive gated complex, with beautiful mature gardens. The complex is a short walk to the Playa Romana Beach, with a number of excellent restaurants and a small supermarket a few minutes walk away. Alcossebre is a small Spanish town within easy reach of the airports with something for everyone. Clean golden beaches, fabulous restaurants and bars are all within walking distance. For the more energetic, then golfing and scuba diving are all just a short drive away.

Both apartment and bungalow have everything you would need to make your time away enjoyable.

Whether you want to relax & read, be slightly more energetic and explore the area, or just chill on the beach, Alcossebre really does have it all.

Getting out and about: Special interest holidays

Access to the area is relatively good with Valencia and Reus. Alcossebre is a wonderful base and there are some wonderful places to visit. We have the Sierra D'Itra 'mountain' and you can walk/hike. You can also hire pedal bikes and the coast offers safe driving. In addition, scuba diving based in the lovely marina of Las Fuentes.

The large Spanish resort of Oropessa is about a 20 minute drive south of Alcossebre. Whilst it is not everyone's cup of tea (built mainly for the Spanish holiday makers) as it has quite a few high rise hotels. It does have a wonderful spa/indoor swimming pools so if you want to treat yourself then it may suit you (especially out of season if you have a dull day). They even carry out plastic surgery!

Peniscola, Vinaros & Morella: These are 3 great towns well worth a visit.

Peniscola is closest and whilst it is a holiday resort it really does have a lot of character. There is the wonderful fort/castle (where they filmed El Cid) which is full of windy streets and restaurants. The prom is about 4 miles long full of ice cream parlours. It makes a great day out for all.

Vinaros is a market town with a lovely shopping area - full of local character and typically Spanish. Because it is the main working town, there is something to see and do all year round. Well worth the visit.

Morella - one of the oldest walled cities in Spain (still inhabited) it is about an 75 min drive. But really worth the effort. It reminds us of York/Bath (except its on a mountain). Lots of great tapas bars/cafes and the views are magnificent. A great day out.

About Lorreine Kennedy

I run my own firm, Carematters, based in St Albans. carematters provides information and advice to later life clients. I love my role but it is very presurised, and as a result regular trips to Alcossebre help me cope with the pressures of life

Lorreine Kennedy purchased this apartment in 2003
Why Lorreine Kennedy chose Alcossebre

simple, it is set in the most lovely gardens in a quite part of Alcossebre and yet close enough to the shops, beach and restaurants to be convenient. we looked at dozens of properties but this one stole our hearts. We never imagined that we would feel the same way 9 years later, but everyone is so friendly and the complex so well maintained that we cannot imagine being without it.

What makes this apartment unique

The complex has beautiful gardens, good sized pool, lots of shade, wonderful fellow owners and guests. Most importantly the complex is incredibly well maintained, it is simply lovely. Properties in a typical Spanish Pueblo style. There is complete peace and quiet (although August does get busy as families arrive)

There are 5 beaches in and around Alcossebre. All are excellent, and meet the European Blue Flag standard for cleanliness. The closest beach (Playa Romana) is a few minutes gentle stroll from the La Senia complex. All of the beaches are gently sloping, with clean golden sand, and the sea is ideal for children and adults alike.

The bungalow is in the Playa Romana area of Alcossebre, a 15 - 20 min walk into the town itself. Nearby Las Fuentes with its beautiful marina is within walking distance. For the fun followers, then the Universal theme park about an hours drive up the coast.

Further details:

The local supermarket is a short walk from the complex, as are some excellent restaurants. In the town centre, are 3 small supermarkets, a number of banks/plenty of cash machines, a tourist information centre, and many many restaurants, bars and tapas bars.

All of the above are well stocked shops, but for the 'big shop' we usually go to one of the hypermarkets on the N340.

Golf: The beautiful golf course (Panoramica) in San Jordi is an approximate 25 minutes drive, it was designed by Bernhard Langer. . Another course (Cap i Corp) is being built with completion due late 2008. There is also Sergio Garcia's course at Castellon - about 25 - 30 minute drive away

Wae up to the sound of the sea.

Submitted: March 11, 2013 Stayed: February 2013
A really good apartment that is just as described. Kitchen and bathroom were ideal and the quiet location, secure parking, UK TV and access to the sea were excellent. Lorreine was swift and efficient in handling all our questions.
A few things that would have improved our stay: a) Access to Spanish TV simply to have a pictorial representation of the weather, b) A larger freezer would have been useful...don't buy lots of frozen items on route, as it's a fridge with a small freezer compartment, c) A dining table and chairs, we used the balcony table and chairs to eat indoors in the evening.
Having said the above, I must point out that we were perhaps unusual clients in as much as that we were there in the low season and were out every day geocaching on foot on the SGR33 and in the Serra de Irta or on our VTTs. If you were there in the summer, you know the weather is going to be good, you can buy fresh food easily nearby and you'll be eating outside, so the above 3 suggestions wouldn't apply.
We had an excellent time there and particularly enjoyed waking up to the sound of the sea and the spotless starlings. We would happily recommend it to friends and family.

A perfect and quiet location

5 of 5
Submitted: May 14, 2010 Stayed: April 2010
We made the perfect combination : 3 days in Valencia + 1 week in this fantastic apartment. Set in a very well-kept garden in a restful and cosy complex we found the perfect stay with this stay. We found out Alcossebre is very enjoyable with the different beaches, good restaurants, very fine walks on well-kept paths nearby.
The well-equipped apartment is in walking distance of the beach, the shops and bars and restaurant, but just away from the busy life.
We were very happy to have a balcony for morning sun as well 1 with a south direction, especially because we were there in spring. There was garden furniture enough!
It is really a place where you feel comfortable! It's a location which is suited to everyone. If you just want to enjoy the complex and loving sun, you can - therefor you need no car. If making walks or sit on the terraces is more your thing, no problem in Alcossebre. We hired a car and made some fine trips, like those to the villages in the mountains.
Also we found out that it's great to have such helpfull and nice contacts (by e-mail) with the owners.

Owner's Response: Its always lovely to get positive feedback, and simply endorses what my husband and I know - that we really have found a wonderful spot in a friendly, well equipped town. IWe want our guests to enjoy their stay as if they were living in their own property. am delighted that you enjoyed your stay (even if it was extended by the Volcanic Ash!) and thank you for your kind comments.

A wonderful holiday whenever you go

Submitted: April 30, 2010 Stayed: November 2009
We have been using this apartment for 4 years and have been at a variety of times during the year. The owners have been incredibly helpful with queries and keeping us up todate on developments and changes in Alcossebre. The apartment is very well equipped, tastefully decorated and kept spotlessly clean. The gardens and pool are kept immaculate and are very restful. The restaurants are of high quality and suit most tastes and pockets. If you want a quiet restful holiday then we are pleased to recommend this lovely apartment. In fact we cant wait to get out again, later this year

great location in a very peaceful part of resort

we stayed there for one week, lovely bungalow very comfortable and all the amenities you need, even Sky for the chillier nights when you don't want ot go out.
The situation is very pretty in well looked after gardens and pool, lots of restaurants and bars to choose from although when we stayed it was the beginning of the season and everything was getting ready but we still found some good eating places. This area of Spain is very interesting with lots of paces to visit, definately would go back again perhaps at the end of the season when the sea has warmed up

What a lucky find!!

5 of 5
Submitted: December 7, 2008 Stayed: June 2008
What luck! In 2008 my husband and I chose our holiday after trawling the internet and what a great find. We had never heard of Alcossebre however, called the owners and spoke to them personally, they were so helpful and accomodating.

We rented the one bedroom apartment which was ideal for us. The place was extremely clean and the location suitable for taking morning stolls along the beach and relaxing in the afternoon at the pool. There was a local supermarket within a couple of minutes walk and several restaurants nearby. Although we had hired a car to get to the location from Valencia Airport we seldom used it as we had decided this was just the place for us to relax.

The owners have been so friendly and we felt very much at home in their apartment, so much so that we are going again in 2009 and also my daughter and family are joining us as the small complex is a safe and ideal place for young children.
