The Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge contains more threatened and endangered plants and animals than any other wildlife refuge in the continental US, including the West Indian Manatee, Florida Scrub Jay, Gopher Tortoise and Indigo Snake. More than 5,000 alligators live on Merritt Island. The Indian River Lagoon system, which borders the refuge, has more species of plants and animals than any other North American estuary. Fishing:
Titusville is a world class fishing location with over 500 species of marine fish found in the Indian River Lagoon, and over 100 species of fresh water fish found in the St. John's River and the fresh water lakes in this area. Offshore, the Atlantic Ocean holds a variety of big game fish and you will enjoy trolling for Dolphin, King Mackerel, Wahoo, Sail Fish, or bottom fishing for Grouper, Snapper, and Cobia.
Port Canaveral just down the coast is home to a number of cruise ships, offshore fishing charters, party fishing boats, casino boats and dining venues. This area is a must-see for all visitors to the Space Coast. And don’t forget the world famous Dixie Crossroads Seafood Restaurant. You don’t even need a car to get to it!
Golf:
The area plays host to many great golf courses. If you fancy some time in Orlando I have rental properties in Ventura Country Club which has it's own golf course. Located just 5 miles north of the international airport and within 2 minutes of restaurants, shops etc it is the ideal spot for some in town entertainment or relaxation.
