Greg Thomas purchased this cottage in 1999

It was fabulous! The cottage was just what we were looking for. The pictures online don't even come close to giving it justice!
All the accommodations were excellent, I was impressed with the quality of it all. Check in/out were easy and efficient. Thank you for your hospitality...I will definitely recommend this place to others.
Very nice place in The Woods; very clean and allergen free; great communications with the Owner Greg, and he was attentive to needs. I highly recommend this cottage for a quick and quiet get-away from DC !
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Woods Cottage. Greg was a wonderful host, providing great communication. The home was absolutely clean and we thought the furnishings looked better in person than the pictures portray. Everything worked well including the wall fountain. The queen bed must have been a pillow top, because it was deliciously soft. The open floor plan was really pleasant. The Woods community is a well planned one with curving roads and large lots offering plenty of privacy. We enjoyed the indoor pool and the hot tub. There was also a nice fitness room. There are numerous hiking trails and we took one up a hill toward the power line observation point but did not make it all the way due to snow cover. Berkeley Springs is at least 25 minutes away offering great places to eat. We loved Tari's for delicious well presented food and relaxing atmosphere. The Country Inn offered live piano music on Saturday night and a quaint colonial tavern. We wanted to reserve a roman bath at Berkeley Springs State Park but preferred reservation times were alreadybooked; I recommend reserving well ahead. The Woods Cottage was a wonderful place to stay, and I would highly recommend it for couples or a small family.
Arrived Tuesday before thanksgiving. Directions were very accurate. Roads were well paved. House was well kept. Nice furnishings! It felt like home away from home. It has everything you need. Really appreciated the well equipped kitchen for thanksgiving cooking. Would definitely return hopefully in a warmer season so I could use the beautiful screened porch!
We arrived after work and were very pleased with the cottage. The pictures are very accurate. It was very clean. We spent the evening relaxing and watching TV before spending some time on the screened in porch. It rained on Saturday morning, but we were quite content to relax and watch the birds enjoying the berries right off the deck. The welcome book provided lots of good information. When our daughter and her hubby arrived, we sent the guys to get carryout from one of the local restaurants. It was great. Although it was chilly on the porch Saturday night, we had a good time especially with the special lighting. It was over too quickly, but we sure appreciated the noon checkout time. Thanks for sharing your cottage with us!
Our recent stay at the Mountain Cottage was great Family time. The cottage was roomy, clean, and very comfortable. The outside areas were a great place to watch nature, grill dinner, and just relax after a day of golf. I would recommend this property to others. We have stayed at others rentals at the "Woods", this one has been the best so far.
Perfect location for us, we have 2 pups less than one yr old. Very clean, sleeping was great! Golf awesome! Both pools very nice! Centrally located to go to ballpark in Hagerstown, Amtrak was there for our 25 year old daughter, we visited Harpers Ferry so awesome! Our favorite part of this cottage was the screened in porch even screened underneath the floor! Fishing was 8 miles away at a lovely lake. Good walking neighborhoods. Hiking - we miss it very much! From the get go Greg was very helpful, kept in touch several weeks in advance and checked in via email while we were there. Was very kind to us all the way. Yes we would definitely come back! We cooked often, kitchen very well stocked. Masterbath had 2 seats in the shower. The bed in the master just outrageously comfortable for me with a down cover. Just lovely, tastefully decorated, perfect instructions for everything.
