My husband and I have been coming to this wonderful log cabin for years. It is roomy with a great gas fireplace , loft bedroom and fully equipped kitchen. The rear deck overlooks a big lawn on a very private multi acre lot & great for sipping coffee in the am or wine in the evening. It has an attached garage & full basement apartment if need be. It truly is our home away from home..and the only complaint is we never want to leave!
Our log cabin stay was a fitting introduction to Mid Coast Maine. Quietly secluded in the forest, it provided a spacious, clean home base to explore the scenic and cultural attractions of the area that are very nearby. We especially enjoyed the back porch with plenty of rockers & chairs for comfortably enjoying the many birds plus plenty of peace & quiet. Of the many places to explore, I highly recommend the Farnsworth Museum in Rockland...a well displayed collection of American artists who have lived or worked in Maine. Lots of places to enjoy good seafood too: our favorites included Atlantica in Camden and an outside table at The Pearl in Rockland. Great chowder!
Our first Mid Coast Maine getaway. The house was exceptionally spacious and the setting was wonderful. Very quiet. Close and convenient to Rockport, Rockland and Camden. Wonderful home in a great spot. We cannot wait to visit again next summer.
We experienced mice in the living room and master bedroom during two of the four nights we stayed in this house. This was extremely disruptive to our evenings as well as having to be concerned about mice running about while we slept. We notified the property manager, sent a photo and video of the mice, and requested a partial refund. We were told there was no evidence of mice based on the cleaning staff and exterminator. Apparently a photo and video were not enough evidence for this property manager and owner. We were also told that unless future guests complained about mice we would not receive any refund. This response was unacceptable to us.
Peaceful, safe and quiet! This log cabin is very spacious and have a decent amenities and kitchen equipment that we need. Nearby to all places we need to go and the owner is very accommodating, she pick up her phone in just one ring and always end up the conversation with "let me know if you need anything".... the sunrise on the porch to the kitchen window makes me prepare my family breakfast always with a smile, we sipped our coffee in the porch and have an early morning talk on how we will spend our day together ! We come home late at night and sit on the porch and couch , enjoying our late snacks and ice cream on the cones....doors and windows are open until past midnight and the breeze are fresh and crisp! Our teens enjoys the DVD in the house....love the Parent Trap from the 60's! They enjoy their own rooms and never get bored...we play checkers too! A minute drive to Rockport Harbor, to Rockland and had our infamoust Lobster Club featured in Bobby Flay's Throwdown and Sailing with Capt Bob @ 4pm-6pm ....excellent weather! Camden Hills and Ellsworth Downtown are beautiful too! Only less than 2 hours drive from Acadia Cadillac Mountain ....breathtaking! Stopping in Fort Knox Bridge Observatory Tower on our way to the mountain. Going home we stop at one of the lobster restaurant along the Bar Harbor Road and bought 25 pcs soft shell lobsters! Another hidden secret that is just minute away from this magnificent cabin..... the Owl's Head Lobster marina...... we bought 35 pcs soft shell lobster more! It is a Lobster Overload!!! This place is clean and decent ...... shop at their nearby groceries or eat at nearby familiar famous fast food centers ! Visited Owl's Head and Breakwater Lighthouses in Rockland ....on our way back to Jersey, we visited the most photograph lighthouse which is the Portland Head Lighthouse ! Excellent weather and beautiful Maine !
We just returned from our visit to Rockland Maine, where we stayed in this great home. The cabin was very clean and spacious with all the comforts and upgrades that we were used to. If you crave privacy this is a great place, as it sits back off the road a bit, but is only 2 to 3 minutes from Rockland where we enjoyed the antiques, great food and the museum. We would definately stay here again on our next visit.
Rockport is a small Maine Harbor village in the heart of Midcoast Maine. Well loved by locals and visitors, spectacular mountains meeting the oceans edge. Some of the best views and hiking opportunities in Maine. Lots of local artists and an opera house offering dance, music, and plays year round. Many fine art galleries, a harbor park with historical landmarks, day trip sailing cruises, and more. Come visit local museums, beaches, light houses, and off-shore islands. Spend the evening at one of the many wonderful restaurants in the area.
