This is a combination of the best of old and new worlds -- a basic family vacation cottage that has been updated with gorgeous details -- floor to ceiling windows in the master bedroom, hardwood floors, two porches, stupendous dock reaching way into the lake with fire pit and chairs at the house end, state of the art entertainment center. Luis is a remarkably accommodating and generous host; he happily provided some things I asked about and made a special trip out to fix the television connection.

The kitchen is well supplied with high quality dishes and pots. The yard is immense, with gorgeous giant trees covered with spanish moss, a hammock, kayak, beautiful outdoor furniture. The house is set well back from the road.

We were there 6 weeks and found it a great place for visitors as well; plenty of space for enjoying each other and having privacy as well.

The lake can be busy with lots of motorboats, and the road is busy as well; it's a challenge to find good walks right out the door but there are parks not far away.

We highly recommend it.

My family and I stayed 6 nights as this great cottage. Perfect location to the boat ramp, Keystone, and the little grocery store in Melrose. House has a great selection of pots and pans, utensils, etc. The kids took wiffle ball and the front yard was big enough for them to play many wiffle ball games. The house is big enough to feel like if you have guests stop by for the day no-one was crowded. The BEST part is the dock, which we loved. You can tell it was built for people to enjoy the water and we sure did. From having morning coffee to night fishing it was was used all day every day. Loved our vacation.
