Tax- Xirfi is a nicely converted 200 year old farmhouse situated in the small village of Kercem. It is 5 min drive away from Victoria and ten minutes from the nearest beach Xlendi. The farmhouse comprises of a large arched lounge with open log fire-place and satellite TV a bathroom, bedroom, kitchen and dinning combined and also a small courtyard on the ground floor.On the first floor there are two sunny terraces, two bedrooms , one of them en suite.

Kercem is a small village on the Western side of Gozo. It five minutes by car from the capital city Victoria and near the sunny beach of Xlendi. Like most villages in Gozo the church which was built in the middle of the nineteenth century is found in the centre of the village. Most of the inhabitants which in all total to about 1200 are employed for the government, in the services and manufacturing industry. Although few families earn their living from farming the big majority till the land as a part time job. A suburb which is further to the South of Kercem is Santa Lucija.This community is basically rural and the numberof inhabitants is about five hundred.This place took its name from the saint to whom the small chuch in the little square is dedicated.

What a lovely holiday

We stayed in Tax-Xirfi Farmhouse for a week at the end of April/Beginning of May and we had a lovely time there. The house was an old converted farmhouse and exactly as described. The rooms were clean and spacious if a little basic and everything that we required was there. We had asked the owner to organise a taxi to the house for us and sort out car hire and that went absolutely without a hitch. Maria was extremely helpful and provided us with any information we needed. There was no pool which suited us as we have two small children and we did not want to worry about them falling into it. However, we were only a few minutes drive from any beach on Gozo and Victoria is only a stones throw away. Kercem is a lovely village with a shop and a lovely pizzeria. We have and will recommend the house (and the owner) to our friends and we are planning to return in the near future. Overall, the house was excellent value for money and every bit as nice as described.
