Located in Corolla, which is very well-known for its wide, sandy, clean beaches. Just a short drive to the Currituck Club Golf Course, the Currituck Lighthouse, a movie theater, ample shopping at unique boutique and beach specialty shops. Corolla also offers vacationers the historic Whalehead Club and the Wildlife Nature Center which is open daily for tours. There are a variety of restaurants nearby. Located at the northern most end of the Outer Banks, Corolla is private and secluded and offers guests uncrowded, pristine beaches and is truly a family vacation destination. The Southern Half is located in Swan Beach which is 3 miles into the 4x4 beaches just north of Corolla.

Great location

We loved staying at The Southern Half. The pool and jacuzzi were very relaxing. We enjoyed being so close to the beach, and watching the horses in the front and backyard everyday was very pleasant. They are gorgeous! My husband thoroughly enjoyed the movie theatre room as well. Overall a fabulous house with great amenities and in a great location.

Amazing house!

We just returned from a week at the Southern Half! What an amazing adventure and experience. If you want to be on the beach away from it all in a home with lots of fun amenities pool, hot tub, pool table, then this is for you. The house is reached via 4wheel drive down the beach and up over a sand dune. Wild horses roam freely in front of the house and on the beach. This house is ideal for several families to share with tons of space. The decks are amazing!

This is a beautiful home to rent and we had plenty of horses come around the house. Even though it is not oceanfront, it is an easy walk over the trail to the ocean. Highly Recommend The Southern Half.

Wonderful!

What a wonderful house! The house was so clean when we arrived it was as though we were the very first guests! The house can accommodate a lot of people but the floorplan is so well thought out that every room is very private. We had such a relaxing time: the theater room is fantastic, bedrooms are very comfortable, kitchen is well-equipped - complete with a wine cooling fridge – and the hot tub is HOT and bubbly! We saw wild horses and dolphins every day, about 50 different species of birds, a fox came to visit one evening, and we didn't see any other neighbors. We had such a good time, we reserved another week!
