About Diane Dalton
Diane and Christopher. We live and work in Austin, TX. We visited Bethel, ME in 2011 and knew that this was a place we want to bring our family for many years to come. Growing up in the panhandle of Texas, (Diane) and Iowa (Christopher), we had NO idea that Maine was such a fabulous state to visit! We were enamored with the area and chose this beautiful cabin which we immediately remodeled, then added a screened gazebo to better enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Each year we continue to add features and upgrade because we consider each guest a special part of our endeavors to provide a wonderful vacation.

Why Diane Dalton chose Bethel
Where do we begin.....Ski magazine has hailed Bethel, ME 'The Greatest Ski Town In the Universe' and '#1 Best Skiing in New England', GOLF.com #1 'Best Public Golf Course in the Northeast' (2014). Bethel was also listed in the top 10 'Best Outdoor Places in America', offering hiking, biking, canoeing, rafting, and Bethel's Outdoor Adventure Park.
We first visited the Bethel area in the summer of 2011. We immediately fell in love with the area and its friendly people. There were countless activities from which to choose for our 15 y/o daughter and her friend. We played golf on the spectacular Sunday River #1 Ranked (GOLF.com 2014) course, hiked, canoed, and white-water rafted. On the weekend, we went to Sunday River Resort where we did the zip line and went down the mountain to the brewing company, where we had delicious hamburgers and a flight of beer. Sunday River also offers hiking and mountain biking at various levels of expertise.
The restaurants were fabulous! We dined at the tavern, Suds, where we listened to great live music. Later, we ate at a world renowned 22 Broad Street 4-star restaurant, where we had wonderful Italian food. There were many cuisines available....or you can cook your own delicious meal!
We were sold once we discovered that the best snow and golf course in the Northeast is Sunday River. Our family loves both winter and summer sports so this scenic place was perfect!
What makes this cabin unique
Since 2011, when we purchased our lovely cabin, it has been such a joy to offer our guests new and beautiful features. Every year, we determine what our guests and family would enjoy and add those features/items to the cabin.

How do I begin.. Thank You!! Thank you so very much for allowing Sean
and I the opportunity to rent your beautiful cabin and make BEAUTIFUL
memories. From the minute we walked through the door, until the moment we
put the key back into the lock box, we were in heaven. We had two beautiful
days, one of which we hiked through the Screw Auger Falls and had delicious
brick oven pizza at the Matterhorn ( I am craving the Edelweiss.. hehe) and
even though it snowed our last full day, we watched movies, laughed and
made memories. All of which was made possible by you. We hope you received
positive feedback on how we left the cabin ( I made sure we never went to
bed until the place looked the way it did when we arrived) and even though
we had an issue with the water, Josh was incredibly friendly, arrived
within 10 minutes of our call, apologized for the mistake and we had smooth
sailing after. It is obvious that you and your husband take pride in your
cabin and in the notion of leaving others with memories as beautiful as
ours. That being said, Sean called me this evening and said now that we are
home in New Jersey he wants to be back in Maine. He asked me to check when
your availabilities are for the September/October months. This time
bringing our daughter and his mother (who works three jobs and hasn't taken
a vacation since Seans father died - over 13 years) we know she will FALL
IN LOVE with the wood, the décor and the way it makes you feel that you
never left home. We would love to come during a time when a moose hike or
any hike without snow for that matter, can be taken. When we would be
surrounded by the foliage and the smells and see the town alive. I know
winter is the towns season, but we are not "winter" people... but we have
become Maine people... Anyways, I do not know how to thank you enough. If
you could get back to me about available renting dates that would be
Again, Thank You
