More on Las Terrenas: There are new and exciting additions to Las Terrenas with every visit. At one time a small fishing village Las Terrenas is rapidly becoming an extraordinary vacation destination. There are several modern supermarkets, 3 banks with ATM's, along with local shops and gift stores providing access to clothing, shoes, jewelry, and an abundance of local artwork and crafts. LT has a population of about 25,000. Four thousand being international residents of mostly French and Italian nationalities. With beautiful scenery beyond every turn, one would certainly get their exercise trying to walk or jog the never ending beaches. For those who do not want to miss their daily work out, we have a gym/weight room in town. Any one can attend for a 60 peso ($1.50USD) fee per day. You will not have a problem finding a restaurant to your liking with over 50 locations offering French, Italian, German, and Dominican cuisine.
More on Residencia Paraiso: The owners, John and Barbara Irvin reside in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, USA, but we absolutely love the Samana Peninsula and Las Terrenas. We try to visit as often as possible. In fact we became owners soon after our first visit to the Dominican Republic. We purchased in this tropical paradise in February 2008. PARAISO, for all that didn't know, means PARADISE. We have been to Las Terrenas a dozen times and find the area safe and secure, whether we are walking a deserted beach, traveling on the roadways, or enjoying the night life (we also use common sense when it comes to international travel). Paraiso, comprised of only 24 2-3 beroom units, is not just a rental community. Over half of the units are owner occupied which tends to lead to quiet evenings and mornings. Daily or weekly housekeeping (cleaning, cooking and shopping) can be provided for an additional fee. We provide a free Hurricane Refund Policy (ask about terms and conditions).
