Sunset Watch is a unique 2-story home perched directly above Virgin Gorda's Nail Bay Beach, with an expanse of ocean, sunset & green islands beyond. This charming, gingerbread villa is comprised of 2 independent levels, the Upper & Lower Decks, making it ideal for 2 couples. *Sunset Watch may be rented either as a 2-bedroom villa (for the utmost in privacy), or as 2 independent 1-bedroom suites (see below).
Sunset Watch's Upper Deck opens onto a large, L-shaped covered verandah, comfortably furnished with a sink-into sofa & armchairs, dining table for 6, and hammock - the perfect spot to laze away idle hours reading, napping, watching passing yachts, savoring sunsets & stargazing! The Upper Deck is a compact but well-equipped pied-a-terre, offering a gourmet kitchen with breadmaker, Cuisinart, wine cooler, wet bar etc. This in turn opens onto a small living area with a 180-degree ocean view. From here, screened glass sliders lead out onto the beautiful sunset-view verandah. The Upper Deck's king bedroom features a generous ensuite bath with double sinks, bidet & exotic alfresco shower.
On the Lower Deck of Sunset Watch, a shaded garden patio ushers guests into an attractive sitting room with well-equipped kitchen area. A separate king bedroom features a handpainted mural, as well as ensuite bath with double sinks, jacuzzi tub (with shower) & additional exotic alfresco shower. The Lower Deck's adjacent garden patio is suitably arranged for alfresco dining. PLEASE NOTE: as Sunset Watch provides no interconnection between the Upper & Lower Decks, the villa is inappropriate for small children.
Just below Sunset Watch is an expansive terrace & swimming pool, amid lush tropical landscaping for perfect privacy, and offering chaise lounges & an umbrella. A few steps away from the pool deck is another spacious terrace overlooking the superb sea vistas. This area has an alfresco canvas-roofed dining pavilion, gas grill, bar & bench seating, and additional chaises, perfect for outdoor island living. A stone staircase leads from the gardens to Nail Bay Beach, ideal for strolling on the sands, beachcombing or snorkeling. Excellent swimming may be enjoyed at nearby Mountain Trunk Bay (1-minute drive/10-minute walk), or at unspoiled, nearly-deserted Long Bay Beach (5-minute drive), Virgin Gorda's best-kept secret!
Sunset Watch is a private & charming sanctuary with its Caribbean gingerbread trim & tropical flowers - a wonderful location for a comfortable villa holiday. Nail Bay's spa, restaurant & bar are a short, convenient walk from the villa, and historic 19th-century stone ruins of the former Nail Bay sugar plantation are also within walking distance. Virgin Gorda's markets, restaurants & watersport activities may be reached within an easy 15-20-minute ride from Sunset Watch.
* Rates shown are for combined 2 bedrooms (Upper & Lower Decks). If guests opt to rent either independently as a 1-bedroom suite, the other suite will likely be rented to other guests & the pool will be shared, thus compromising privacy. Please ask your Wimco agent for these special 1-bedroom rates.
NOTES: Villa rates exclude 17% tax & service (not 19% as with most Virgin Gorda villas).
