This cozy ranch house is surrounded by a covered viewing deck from which you can appreciate a magnificent view of the Miravalles Volcano (2,028 m) The house has a master bedroom with a queen size bed, and the guest room has two single beds. It has a fully equipped kitchen, dining-living area and bathroom.

Finca La Perla is a 260 acre ranch dedicated to the breeding and organic raising of Brahman cattle. It has approximately 35 acres of primary rain forest with abundant wildlife which includes congo and white face monkeys, tucans, parrots, pavas, three-toed sloths, and many other species of birds and mammals. It is located in the Miravalles valley in the shadow of the Rincon de la Vieja and Miravalles volcanoes. It is approximately 6 kilometers from the town of Guayabo and 50 kilometers from the InterAmerican Highway at an altitude of 550 meters above sea level.

Many, many thanks to the wonderful Raphael and Dilia for a fabulous stay on their ranch!

If you like to get away from it all and enjoy a bit of peace and quiet, this is the place for you. This simple ranch cottage, about 10 minute's drive from the closest town (Guayabo) is cosy, clean and safe, with rural views all round. You can chill on the veranda in a hammock and watch birds all day, or you can play rancher by joining in the day's ranch work, or you can go visit all the local volcanic hotspots (hot springs, bubbling mud pools), go zip-lining, visit waterfalls, as you please.

Our hosts, Raphael and Dilia, a cuban-american and columbian-american respectively, were super-friendly and kind, spoke fluent English and were generous with their time. They proudly showed us their ranch and provided great tourist advice. They allowed us to ride their lovely horses as much as we wanted, which was impressive considering our lack of experience. Their ranch was well kept and their livestock the healthiest in the country.

I recommend this venue for anyone who wants to get off the tourist track and do something a little different. I would return in a heartbeat.
