Fantastic place for our 50th anniversary! Things we loved about this unit include: Ground floor OCEAN FRONT unit with lanai and grassy area out the huge glass doors on the back of the unit with sound of the surf and view of the ocean and Molokai across the channel. Sit on the lanai with a beverage and watch the beautiful sunsets. Watch the butterflies that are attracted to the tree to the right and toward the ocean from the spacious lanai. Watch the sailboats in the 9 mile channel between you and the southeast end of Molokai. Watch the stand up paddle boarders in close to the shore. Take a five minute stroll from your front door to the wonderful Napili Bay Beach. Rest or read a book on a beach chair from the closet as you catch some rays, or—my favorite—snorkel off the sandy beach to the coral reef and watch an abundant variety of colorful fishes. You're likely to be visited by a green sea turtle that grows up to five feet. One of the ones I swam with was pointed out to me by my wife as she rested on the beach with a good book. If you happen to be swimming beside the turtles they do not seem to mind. Just give them some distance. Hawaii law prohibits harassing or riding them.
Bathroom with counter space and nice shower. Fully equipped kitchen which allows you to cook your own meals but we were glad to have several handy kitchen things which we used to cut up fresh fruit (nice knife set and cutting board), nice dishes for fruit, cheese and cracker snacks (cheese cutter in the drawer), and a full sized microwave for re-warming restaurant foods. FULL refrigerator and freezer with ice cubes for cooling drinks. Gas BBQs by pool out front.
We loved the comfortable Murphy Bed which allows lots of space during the day, the beautiful art and decorations, the wonderful 43 inch flat screen TV and the DVD player which we used to view the first of our digital recorder DVDs.
Take a trip into Lahaina and walk under the huge banyan tree. Snorkel in Napili Bay. Go to the Maui Plantation. Get up early and drive to the top of Haleakala to watch the sunrise—on a different trip it was 38ºF and a 35 mph wind—so be prepared for that!). Ride the Sugar Cane Train, visit the many museums (Google 'Maui Museums' to find them). Eat at Bubba Gumps in Lahaina and the Maui Brewing Company at the Kahana Gateway center. Go to the Maui Ocean Center. Sunset cruise on Pride of Maui. Ulalena—spring for the VIP seating and take a video camera for the after show VIP performance. Enjoy life!
