COZY WATERFRONT HOME ON OPEN WATER WITH SPACIOUS DECK!

I am part of the party that rented your wonderful place on weekend of April 26-29, 2013. Our party consisted of 6 sisters, ages about 55-67. I tell you that because it should give you some indication of what our expectations would be for "comfort," "cleanliness," and "amenities." We were all very impressed with the place. It had the feel of a very comfortable home and was super clean, inside AND out...a very big plus. The beds were each very comfortable, the quality of the sheets and towels was very good and there were many pleasant amenities. We each expressed that we could definately see ourselves living in such a home. (We each have nice homes, of our own.)

We had a wonderful weekend family escape and John was an ABSOLUTE pleasure to work with and was especially accommodating with my last minute booking! The house was EXACTLY the way it was pictured online and was immaculately clean upon our arrival. When you walked in, your eyes are immediately drawn to windows and the lake out back. The grounds and layout of the house were gorgeous and lent itself very well for our family of (6) and we never felt crowded. We stayed during Easter weekend and it was chilly, overcast and rained during part of our stay however, there was Wi-Fi access, movies and games galore to keep our family entertained. When the sun came out, the view of the lake was MAGNIFICENT.

The living room had high ceilings and let plenty of sunlight in which made the house feel very large. All of the bedrooms were perfect in size with plenty of storage in all rooms. For cooks like myself, the kitchen has EVERYTHING you need. All your basics are available including bake ware, wine glasses and wine opener. There was an outdoor gas grill on the home deck, which is a very nice touch. There is a washer and dryer which made packing for our family of (6) a breeze. We did try to enjoy the top deck and set up the nice furniture during the day however, the only minor drawback was that there were TONS of wasps on the top deck so we waited until dusk which seemed to be a little calmer to watch the most gorgeous sunsets. Note: there is also no lighting on the top deck which makes it a little hard to see at night especially as you walk down the stairs. In the evenings, the boys definitely enjoyed fishing off the deck and were excited to catch several catfish. John's deck is definitely great place to catch fish! Overall we had a WONDERFUL time and would ABSOLUTELY recommend this place to our friends and relatives! I can’t wait to come back and spend a longer weekend here! Great memories. Helpful items to bring: Suntan lotion, bug spray, portable/battery powered light for deck, beach towels, laundry detergent, crockpot or pancake griddle if needed.

We were looking for a place that would be close to each of three siblings, on the water, comfortable and relaxing. Island Retreat on Cedar Creek Lake was just the place. We found everything in perfect order, with just what we needed for the meals we ate there. Being technologically challenged, we struggled with the satellite remote - we need instructions. It was the perfect place for the three couples to relax and catch-up. We enjoyed the deck and the great view of the lake. The owner was very easy to deal with and answered any questions quickly. We'll be back.
