3 Bedrooms, 3 full baths, one with jetted tub, sleeps 6 adults

Words can't really do justice to the privacy and tranquility of this property. Situated on 17 acres just 6 miles from the village of Margaretville, you will feel your stress melt as soon as you arrive. We are located 1/2 mile off a private road. No neighbors nearby. The main level encompasses a large living room, kitchen, dining area and one bedroom. All beds are dressed in clean, crisp linens, including freshly laundered 530 thread count Egyptian cotton duvet covers and down comforters. Four glass sliders, along with skylights, bring the outside in no matter what the weather. The deck is massive and the views are breathtaking. We have super fast broadband wireless internet access...bring your laptop if you must! Or relax in front of a fire, and watch one of the movies in our vast collection (200 and counting!. We have a new 40 inch flat screen high definition tv and have connected the newest Roku2 to it so the choices for entertainment go on and on. Angry Birds anyone? Gas grill, table and lots of outdoor seating. Fire pit in one of the fields for starry nights. Full sized pool table in the downstairs area, and a foosball table on the main level. The home is stocked with plenty of firewood, and the driveway is plowed and maintained. Come in the winter and ski or snowboard! Four ski resorts close by: Plattekill, Belleayre, Windam & Hunter Mountains! The kitchen has just been updated, all stainless appliances, water/ice dispenser on fridge (we also have an ultraviolet water purifier for 'better than bottled' drinking water), five burner stove with griddle and microwave. Dishwasher, washer and dryer downstairs, pots, pans, any cooking utensil you can think of. Everything to make your stay a dream vacation is here....even a canoe with paddles and life vests! During the summer months, visit the awesome community pool in Andes which is open to everyone free of charge, and it's only a short drive away. Or hit the white sandy beach at Pine Hill. Both are very family friendly.

Horseback riding nearby. Rent a bike in Arkville or at Plattekill Mountain, and hit the Catskill Scenic Rail Trail then kick back at the fire pit with a glass of wine.

Excellent accommodation for a secluded getaway!

I recently stayed here with my girlfriend and two other couples. I'll definitely be looking to come here again as it was a great, secluded location with lots of beautiful views, plenty of space to roam about inside and out, and was in close proximity to the town of Margaretville for groceries etc.

The fire pit was ready and waiting for us when we got there on Friday evening, and keeping warm inside witht the wood burning stove was so relaxing. We grilled, played pool, played music all day via Pandora and generally had a great weekend. The owner was super friendly and accommodating, and a pleasure to deal with. She responded quickly to any questions I had leading up to our arrival, and provided such a great place for us to enjoy. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area, look no further!

Winter getaway

Our family rented this property for 4 weekends. Every weekend was fabulous! The house was always clean and the linens were very comfortable. The property was great for spending the day outdoors in the snow and boy there was a lot it! We all had a blast sledding down the mountain. The road was always plowed before we arrived and was even plowed once we were there by request. The owners were always available if we ever had a question and always made sure we were always happy. We definitely recommend this house.

The perfect getaway!

Let me begin by stating I read reviews about horror stories from guest who booked through Home Away and grew quite the skeptic that I would be one of the lucky ones to avoid a similar fate. (I live in Brooklyn- can you blame me???).

Dealing with the owners (Rosemary and her husband John) was a charm! She was prompt, courtesy, and informative with information about skiing options, food/restaurant choices and directions. The house is definitely off the beaten path, and she even made a video snippet of the road leading up to the property. (Very useful as the one traveler of my group who chose not to pay attention to it ended up going to the wrong house and got stuck in the snow- pulled out by their friendly neighbors).

The house was everything promised and much more- the pictures do the place no justice! It was big enough to offer my party (3 couples) privacy and space yet cozy enough for us all to enjoy watching TV by the fireplace or eating dinner together at the kitchen table. Because of the snow, we didn't venture out on the property but from what we saw it promised to be a delight. Everything was clean, smelled fresh and well designed. My personal favorite was the pool table (seemed brand new and perfectly leveled for you billiards enthusiast) and the fireplace (which gets anyone sitting on the couch warm and toasty).

Everyone in my party loved this home and I will definitely make my way back in the warmer months. I would HIGHLY recommend a stay here to anyone travelling to the area. A true gem!

What a needed break in a great cabin

My husband and I decided last minute that we wanted to get away for Christmas. We called up Rosemary and the cabin sounded great. It was even more magical because that week decided to snow. The house was super comfortable the pool table was great, the kids loved playing in the front while my husband managed the wood-burning stove. Even our friends from Australia thought the snow was magical. I'd stay there again in a second. I'd recommend a weekend away for anybody at Rosemarie's place. Enjoy!

Paradise

I stayed in this amazing home for the weekend with my family. The private dirt road leads you up the mountain to a sprawling piece of land. It was breathtaking this time of year. The home was open, clean and tasefully decorated with antiques and eclectic pieces. The beds were cozy and soft. We lived on the wrap-around deck and ate every meal outside. My girls enjoyed roaming the property and hiking the trails looking for fairies! It was a magical and memorable stay, we plan to return and I would highly recommend this property.
