GREETINGS FROM BRUCE AND ZOE!! We built our dream home in 1997, moving out of South Florida to raise our two children in the mountains of Western North Carolina...we never looked back and our children have loved it here! Now that our son is in college and our daughter is on her way, it is time to for us to move off the mountain and share our home with those who can enjoy all that the mountains have to offer!
The Owner purchased this estate in 1997
Six of us that are friends since childhood stayed at the Mountaintop Estate for our annual reunion. We were all turning 50 this year. I have rented at least 10 places through VRBO, Homeaway, Airbnb etc. and this has to be the nicest place I have rented. From the fully stocked kitchen with many extras like spices, oils, and all the general staples that you would have in your own kitchen to the immaculate Jacuzzi with individual chlorine bags to put in after each use, this house had all of the conveniences. The view from both the deck and the Jacuzzi below was beautiful. The owners were very responsive and nice to deal with. Asheville is a great city with amazing restaurants (try Curate for dinner and Salsa's for lunch) and plenty to do nearby. We whitewater rafted on the Pigeon river (Nantahala Outdoor Center is great for that), hiked in Pisgah, and even found a nearby school field to have a Frisbee catch. The only caveat is the climb up the mountain is steep so you need a good transmission and 4 wheel drive in the winter.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at your beautiful home. Six of us traveled from around the country/world for a girls getaway. We felt so at home with “our” little dog Cosby to greet us at all hours of the day and night.
The view was incredible from your dining room and deck. The kitchen was so well stocked and we enjoyed cooking a few meals in. Our biggest regret is that we did not have enough time to just relax and enjoy the home, hot tub, hammock, games, etc because there was so much for us to do in Asheville. We needed more time.
Your home is so well set up for a group to enjoy each other, or some time alone.
My biggest fear in renting a home is the quality of the beds. Your beds and linens rivaled the top hotel chains. Perfect!
We had a group of 14 adults visiting Asheville for a cycling vacation. The house worked out great for our group. The three levels and large rooms provided plenty of space so it never felt crowed even with this large group. We had some difficulty with the internet access, but Jami (property manager) got right on it and had it working the same day.
Visitors should be aware that the single lane road up to the house is narrow, twisty and stepp in some sections. Part of the road is also gravel. You will want to plan well so unnecessary trips down the mountain are not required!
Eight fifty-something females headed to Asheville for a well deserved weekend away. We celebrated a 50th birthday and had a wonderful time at Mountain Top Escape. The home is fantastic and views unbeatable. We loved Asheville and the Sensibilities Day Spa downtown was enjoyed by all. Great restaurants but we honestly only ate out a couple of times, we opted to come back "home" and eat in around the family kitchen table. Many memories of lifetime have been made. Thank you.
My college friends wanted to escape to the mountains and get together and create new memories and reminisce of those of old.
We had the best time at the house. Beautiful home! GREAT deck with views of the mountains. So spacious. And that kitchen was divine. Truly. I couldn't have pictured a more perfect home.
Everyone we spoke with was so kind and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone and hope to one day return.
What a beautiful home and beautiful setting! We enjoyed every minute of our stay. With twelve adults and 2 children, there was plenty of room to escape if you wanted. The manager responded quickly to any needs and we really appreciated that.
We spent a good deal of time on the beautiful deck relaxing and looking at the fantastic view. The weather was perfect in early September: highs in the low 80's and lows in the 60's. Sunny and dry every day.
Asheville downtown was filled with wonderful restaurants, musicians on every street corner, and lots of people milling about. We loved Curate, a tapas restaurant, and the White Duck (Mexican). Also The Venue where we had the wedding reception was perfect for about 100 people. Food was great there also.
Actually, we didn't have enough time being there only 5 days. We would love to go back so that we could try out some more restaurants and do some shopping. Heard that the Shopping was great!.
