Family Vacation to Savannah

When we arrived at this home very late, tired from travel and with two small children our spirits were quickly lifted as it was more than we were expecting. It is a very charming home. Just what I pictured a place in Savannah to be. The main level is lovely and has lots of charm and space. The kitchen and eating area were perfect for breakfast. The dining room and living room were very lovely. We were very happy to have two bathrooms upstairs. Along with our two young daughters, we were traveling with their grandparents so it was nice to have separate bathrooms. There was a den with a small bed which was great for our 3 year old. Janet, the owner was very accommodating when she provided a pack n play for us for our one year old. She also gave us some recommendations on restaurants which we used and loved them!
However, we did find that although we had separate bathrooms the rooms were separated by thin walls and a doorway in between the two rooms and in between our room and the den where our daughter was sleeping. This meant we could hear everything that was going on in the separate rooms which allowed little privacy. So beware, you will be staying very closely with those you are traveling with. We brought along white noise machines which helped a little. Also, if you do plan to stay with very young children you will have to be watching them every second as there is a very high (but beautiful) staircase and many things for them to break. There are laundry facilities. We packed lightly, so we used it a lot but be warned that the dryer was very slow. Other than those few small inconveniences, we enjoyed this home very much. There was parking right behind the house, an entry code was used instead of a key to get into the house, which we enjoyed as we didn't have to keep track of keys. We absolutely loved the location. It seemed to us not to be a touristy area which we liked. It was walking distance to most places we wanted to go and the surrounding area was just charming. We loved our stay and we loved Savannah and cannot wait to come back!
