Savannah, GA is beautiful, historic and artistic.

Founded in 1733, Savannah was the new world's first planned community. Wander through twenty-two squares landscaped in azaleas and live oaks dripping in Spanish moss.

Every major event in US history touched the city. Visit a Revolutionary War Battlefield and the house Gen. Sherman occupied during the Civil War.

Used as the location of many major motion pictures (Forrest Gump, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Something to Talk About, etc.), it is now the location of the Savannah Film Festival every fall. And in the spring is the Savannah Music Festival.

Fifteen miles from the Atlantic Ocean at Tybee Island, GA, and two and a half hours from Charleston, SC, Savannah is perfectly located to enjoy all manner of recreation. Savannah is a perfect vacation spot for every interest in your family.

Family Vacation to Savannah

4 of 5
Submitted: April 10, 2013 Stayed: April 2013
When we arrived at this home very late, tired from travel and with two small children our spirits were quickly lifted as it was more than we were expecting. It is a very charming home. Just what I pictured a place in Savannah to be. The main level is lovely and has lots of charm and space. The kitchen and eating area were perfect for breakfast. The dining room and living room were very lovely. We were very happy to have two bathrooms upstairs. Along with our two young daughters, we were traveling with their grandparents so it was nice to have separate bathrooms. There was a den with a small bed which was great for our 3 year old. Janet, the owner was very accommodating when she provided a pack n play for us for our one year old. She also gave us some recommendations on restaurants which we used and loved them!
However, we did find that although we had separate bathrooms the rooms were separated by thin walls and a doorway in between the two rooms and in between our room and the den where our daughter was sleeping. This meant we could hear everything that was going on in the separate rooms which allowed little privacy. So beware, you will be staying very closely with those you are traveling with. We brought along white noise machines which helped a little. Also, if you do plan to stay with very young children you will have to be watching them every second as there is a very high (but beautiful) staircase and many things for them to break. There are laundry facilities. We packed lightly, so we used it a lot but be warned that the dryer was very slow. Other than those few small inconveniences, we enjoyed this home very much. There was parking right behind the house, an entry code was used instead of a key to get into the house, which we enjoyed as we didn't have to keep track of keys. We absolutely loved the location. It seemed to us not to be a touristy area which we liked. It was walking distance to most places we wanted to go and the surrounding area was just charming. We loved our stay and we loved Savannah and cannot wait to come back!

Wonderful Stay

My wife and I have visited Savannah a number of times, but this was our first stay on Gordon Street. We could not have been more pleased. The home is lovely, comfortable and filled with charm. Two weeks made us feel almost like natives, and we would recommend it highly.

We are a retired, married couple from NW Pennsylvania, who have spent the past 5 Februarys in Savannah---to get a yearly break from our Yankee winters. Previous to that time, we spent several Februarys in Florida...but the consistency of the recent 5 years should confirm that we have fallen in love with Savannah---especially its enchanting Historic District.
2013 was the first February for us at this location, and we thoroughly enjoyed our month-long stay there. The townhouse was clean, comfortably furnished and well located in the Historic District of Savannah. Janet, Carmen and Pam (the respective agent, housekeeper and owner of the rental) were all very warm, welcoming and responsive to any concerns/problems that we might have had over the course of our month---which were virtually nonexistent.
We feel that we’ve now found a February rental that we like as much as Savannah’s Historic District itself. Consequently, we’ll be planning a return to the townhouse for February-2014...and, hopefully, for many more Februarys into the future.

The Grover Family

Upon arriving to your home (and that is what it felt like) HOME! It felt like we were just family arriving to have a wonderful Holiday together.Over 35 years of vacation I can honestly say this vacation was the best one we have ever had.The home was so inviting, warm and full of just beautiful pictures, rugs, furniture, china that it made you feel a taste of the past. The parks were everywhere and everything within walking distance. We enjoyed ourselves so much and we all rested. Something that is usually real hard to do while on vacation. The home made us feel like we were home so it made our stay so enjoyable. When ever we spent the day out we were looking forward to just getting back to the home to start a fire in the living area then all of us would just sit ,lay or play a game of cards on the floor.I had brought many items from home for the kitchen...YOU DON'T NEED ANYTHING! The kitchen is stocked with everything. The entire home is stocked with everything and even beautiful CDS of music that we played while resting, reading,or playing games. The court yard was also beautiful and a wonderful place to read a book or take a nap! I give this home a five star grade and want to say we will be back to enjoy it again. From booking to leaving it was so easy and no bumps along the way...graceful is all I can say about this home and our trip to your
vacation home in Savannah.
