About Steve Young

I am a local real estate agent and love to travel and call Charleston my home. I try to provide for a great, hassle-free and comfortable stay.

Steve Young purchased this house in 2002

Why Steve Young chose Mount Pleasant

Due to its great location in Mount Pleasant; you are a short hop to Old Mount Pleasant, Sullivans Island and Isle of Palms as well as Daniel Island and easy access to Shem Creek, historic downtown Charleston and easy access from the airport and/or 17.

What makes this house unique

Multiple couches and chairs and screened porch give you lots of space to relax and discuss the days adventures or the plans for tomorrow! or kick back and throw in a movie if its raining or at night. And a completely fenced backyard for fido too.

great location !

  • 5 of 5

My friends and us were very pleased with this house. It was comfortable, the location was excellent, and the little book with needed information was so appreciated. We had a wonderful week there, seeing as much as we could, but were able to relax, enjoy the nice back yard, and have time together. I would definitely recommend this house; the walk in shower was helpful, since my husband had a visual handicap.

A Great Stay

  • 5 of 5

I spent an extended Easter Weekend at this property, and could not have been more pleased with everything. I was especially pleased with the large fenced in back yard for my dog (who had a wonderful time hanging out there and chasing squirrels up the trees). The neighborhood is lovely, and while on walks everyone would wave and greet one another. Additionally, the house is convenietly located; making drives into downtown Charleston, Mount Pleasant, or Isle of Palms extremly easy. The interior of the house was well maintained, and provided plenty of space and privacy. Alll communication with Steve throughout the rental process was both friendly and professional. I hope to return to this gem again next year!

Afforable and great location

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I along with our fur babies spent 3 nights here for a work conference. The location was fantastic and the fenced in yard was great for our dogs. The house had everything that we needed and was very cozy. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we could need and there was a variety of movies and games which made for relaxing evenings in. It's often hard to find a nice place to stay when traveling with pets so this home was a great find for us and we will definitely rent again in the future.

Beyond Disappointed!

  • 1 of 5

To say we were disappointed with this rental property is an understatement. From the minute we walked in the door and saw the flooring we could not believe our eyes and there was this smell that would not go away. It was a musty smell, very strong.. This unit is in desperate need of repair and new furnishings. The flooring had been removed down to the concrete and there were holes, and marks throughout. The couch in the living room in front of the tv is so old that when you sat on the cushions you could literally feel the springs. In the kitchen the cupboards were sticky and although it was stocked with dishes, cutlery, etc, we found several items that were dirty and needed to be washed before being used.. There was mold and unsightly marks in the main bathroom around the tub and the toilet. I believe that this property was misrepresented and I never would have rented it had I had any idea of the disrepair. These are only some of the issues we encountered. I must say that the owner/manager was pleasant to deal with.. After this experience I am very reluctant to book any future vacations using the internet and would definitely not recommend this property to anyone. I took some pictures that verify my findings. I must say that the location of this rental was excellent, close to everything. We ended up leaving an entire day early. A very expensive lesson learned.

Owner's Response: To say the least, I am very surprised with this review. I usually get great kudos from folks usually via text when they are checking out. But many here online too. I've tried to be very accurate in my description and photos. The floors ARE a colored and sealed slab as stated in the description with throw rugs. These are low maintenance floors to allow people to bring pets without worry and more than once I've heard " What a great idea! " on this. I do welcome all observations from folks and am always glad to look into anything brought to my attention and continually try to improve my home for future visits. My cleaners are great but human so if there was anything needed, a phone call or text or email to me is all that is needed. This home is not a Taj Mahal, but a decent little home. I hope readers will consider all the reviewers and not just this one . I even got a 'great home' text from folks that just left this morning. I'm here to provide for a pleasant stay in a home.

Fantastic place to stay

  • 5 of 5

I spent six weeks this winter enjoying Steve’s home and hospitality. Don’t hesitate to rent this home; everything is exactly as described.

The best thing about this rental was the location. I have used vrbo for years to visit Charleston, but have never been as pleased as I was with the Canal home. From this location, I was able to get everywhere within minutes—-shopping, tourist attractions, beaches, downtown, grocery stores, restaurants—-all were so close.

The house itself was very comfortable and well equipped. Nice firm mattresses, hot showers, and fluffy towels all contributed to a relaxing stay. The kitchen had a plethora of pots and cooking utensils. I even enjoyed preparing a meal in the Le Creuset casserole I found. Though Charleston was experiencing a colder than usual winter, it was still warm enough to enjoy an afternoon reading in the screened porch’s rocking chair.

Steve himself is the perfect host. He did everything he could to make my stay a perfect one. On several occasions, he even dragged the garbage pails to the curb! Who could ask for anything more.

A must stay.

  • 5 of 5

This is the second property Steve has that we stayed at. If you're looking for a roomy comfortable vacation place, this is it. You can't find a hotel suite in the metro area for anywhere near the price. Close to 3 grocery stores, CVS. Frequented Sullivan's Island for walks on the beach [>10 minutes away]. Steve is very accommodating, if there's anything you need help with he's just a phone call away. Great restaurants, local fare, in the area. Convenient to the Ravenel Bridge to downtown Charleston and I-526 to N.Charleston and shopping areas/airport. Hope he has something available for our next visit. Thanks Steve.
