Photos and Description of the Holden Beach vacation cottage rental
Cottage, 5 Bedrooms + Den, 4 Baths (Sleeps 9-10)

I have been coming to Holden Beach North Carolina since I was 5 years old. My parents rented a little cottage at the West end of the island for two weeks in the summer every year until I was about 13. The home they rented came on the market and they decided to purchase their first beach property. To this day, they still enjoy every moment at that beach home that has collected so many family memories over the years. In 2004, Chesapeake (this cottage) came on the market and it had always been one of my fathers favorite homes. A weathered wooden gray beach house with tons of character yet tons of space for family and friends. When he went inside and saw the knotty pine ceilings that had weathered over the years and the views from the great room, he knew it was a perfect match for a second beach home on the island we all love so much. I being the eldest daughter (and the one with kids!) have spent the most time in the cottage with my husband and two boys.

I have also had many girls weekends in the cottage.

The house is built on stilts so the first livable floor is really the second floor! The underneath of the house is perfect for covered for parking your cars. There is also an enclosed outside shower.

The first livable floor has two bedrooms with private bathrooms Each bedroom has a twin and a double bed in them. There is also a laundry room on this floor. The kitchen/dining/den combo is on this floor as well. Full view of the ocean from this room!

The upstairs consists of two master bedrooms. The first with a private bathroom with a shower (no bathtub) and a King size bed. Access to the covered upstairs porch. The second master has a King size bed and access to the covered porch, but shares a bathroom with another bedroom.

There is another bedroom upstairs with a queen size bed and access to the covered porch.

There is a wonderful second den upstairs with a television/dvd/vcr player and a futon. This room overlooks the marsh on the front side of the house.

In Between Wilmington NC and Myrtle Beach SC;

Cottage is located very close to the Holden Beach pier for those that enjoy fishing. It is a short drive or walk to the pier. In addition, Holden Beach is a short drive (45 minutes) to Myrtle Beach and various other areas for world class golf.

Other Activities: Kayaking, Boating, Biking, Miniature golf, Shelling, Wildlife Viewing.

Great Family Vacation!

Wonderful family vacation and already planning 'next time'. Plenty of room for everyone with a large kitchen for preparing lots of yummy food. Best shrimp ever! Nicely furnished with everything we needed. Enjoyed sitting on the deck watching my grandchildren play in the surf while rocking my 6 month old grandson. Elizabeth, the owner, was very responsive and answered emails quickly. Great weather was a real bonus. Thanks for sharing your home!

Amazing home for multiple famalies

We rented this home for three families and had a blast! With 7 children under 4 being beach front was a MUST..how nice it was to open the door and run right to the beach. This home is well appointed without clutter and decor that you have to worry about around little ones. Each room provided a comfortable space for each couple and our children enjoyed sharing the downstairs rooms. Holden is a family friendly beach- given this home's location you will feel like the you are on a private beach...only a few neighbors on the beach each day. Perfection!

We visited the Pier, ice cream shop (with surprisingly delightful adjoining boutique...great beachwear) and a few local restaurants. Cooking in was fun and easy with the very well equipped kitchen and suggestion from the owner to order groceries from Loews Foods!

Thank you for a wonderful week.

Perfect vacation!

Holden Beach is the perfect beach for a family vacation or small wedding (in my case a little bit of both!) I was getting married and had to change beach locations at last minute and found this house. Elizabeth was extremely helpful and accommodating. Our wedding was perfect and everything turned out just as we had planned. The house has a amazing view from every room and the porches are perfect for sitting and relaxing. The eat in kitchen has a very large table and island w/seating, ideal for a family gathering! This truly is a home away from home and we will cherish the memories made here!!!!

Great Weekend Getaway!

Every year my college roommates and all of our children get together at the beach for a long weekend. This year we stayed here at Holden Beach and the house was PERFECT! It was very spacious and had everything we needed for a great time at the beach. The convenience of being right on the beach was invaluable with little ones. Eventhough the weather was less than ideal, we sat on the covered porch sipping our coffee while the children played on the deck. The house was clean and well-maintained and suited all of our needs. Thanks for a great time - we'll be back for sure!

This home was just what we needed. Easy to find, well stocked kitchen equipment, clean comfortable beds, beautiful ocean front view and my favorite, two porches full of rocking chairs. It also helps that Elizabeth, the owner, is so easy to work with.
