Each tenant is given their own individual access code, which is generated on the combination code entrance lock and only valid during the period of their stay. This ensures only the current occupants will have access to the property and their is no risk of others duplicating keys so access can be obtained later. The property is equipped with a 24 hour exterior surveillance monitoring system that records, captures and tracks external activity. The apartment's dual entries provide enhanced security by inserting two locked doors between the exterior element and the secure safe apartment. The place met our expectations and was consistent with listing. Erling was well organized, made us feel welcome, and worked hard to earn a 5-star rating. The place was clean and functional. We liked having the air mattress available for our kids. Location is safe, close (2-blocks) to the metro, and close to restaurants and activities on U-St and 14th St.

This brownstone basement apt is in a great location if you want to be near neighborhood restaurants and bars (1/2 block) as well as a metro stop and Trader Joe's (about a block away). We felt safe walking around this neighborhood at all times.

Excellent Location, Excellent Service

This was the perfect location, and the perfect host for my purposes. I needed to book a last minute stay on business and every single hotel along the Metro in DC, VA and MD were booked, including those by Reagan National. The only availability were either hostels or $650+ rooms per night. I contacted the owner on a Sunday morning to check in on Monday evening and he was able to accommodate me with no problems whatsoever. It was extremely easy to get to via the Metro from Union Station, and even easier to my office via the bus along 14th St. Facilities were clean, street was quiet, everything worked properly, and just a block away were services (supermarket, pharmacy, eateries, etc...). Landlord is easily accessible anytime. Highly recommend anyone to stay here.

Mother/Daughter DC Adventure 2014

We arrived on a rainy afternoon, Erling met us and took us on a walk around the neighborhood. He was a wonderful host and shared lots of little tips about how to get around town, suggestions about places to eat, shop, etc... The apartment was clean and cozy! Plenty of room for us and with all the amenities we needed. Just moved in, add a few groceries and it felt like we were at home - only right down the street was the White House! THe metro was so easy and efficient! We did walk down to the National Mall one day - that was fun and it only took about 1/2 hour. Erling invited us for breakfast on our last day... He is a perfect host and we'd love to stay with him again! Thank you for a perfect homebase!

I am in LOVE with DC and it started this place

My family of 4 including a 10 & 12 year old found this place perfect. Location -WOW- just great. Hip restaurants galore - and just 100 steps away. And now a Trader Joes - what else do you need? Kitchen has everything you need for 4. I found the description just right.

With the Metro 2 easy safe blocks - you can get anywhere in just a couple stops. So easy and convenient.

Erling, the owner, was so helpful. There to welcome us, show us the apartment and give tour of the area - invaluable. He also helped arrange safe parking for our car. And he was just a call away and upstairs if we needed him.

We were there for a week and it worked for us. Now- it is not very big but I did not expect it to be. Kids on air mattress and pull out couch- which when out did not leave much extra space. I still say PERFECT for our needs.

Places we enjoyed that you can walk to (14th & U area)...& pizza, Matchbox, Ted Bulletins, homemade pizza, and Trader Joes. We even walked to Target (about a mile) -then Metro'ed home (cuz we wore the kids out).

Metro'ed everywhere, 14th Street (100 steps away) was every busy and you could get a taxi without a problem. Couple miles from the Zoo and Mall. Location would not have been more perfect!

Internet connect was great. Cable TV would get stuck sometimes, but recover.

So glad we stayed there. Hope to go back and see the places we did not get to since we ran out of time!

If you only have one friend in Washington, make sure it is E.B.

From the minute we got there to the time we left, we had the best concierge service that can be imagined. We LOVED T Steet Base of Ops and will go back to D.C. Just to stay here again. My children want to make sure I mention that "this property was better than any five star hotel, ever." Erling met us when we arrived and took care of every need. An air bed had a slow leak and he immediately ran out and bought a new, pretty darn luxe one. We also loved the memory foam bed. My son turned 11 and Erling PERSONALLY made his birthday cupcakes complete with designer candles. He had prepared a folder of information in the area and gave us a quick tour. When you stay here, don't miss Ben's Chili Bowl or Manny & Olga's pizza. This location is so close to the Metro station the cold weather didn't give us a problem. Wonderful location, fabulous host, and a trip to remember. We can't wait to go back. We now feel like we have a great friend in Washington, D.C.
