CAMPO DE FIORI This is one of the busiest and most picturesque squares in Rome. The Campo dei Fiori is one of the most popular meeting places for young people and at night the many bars are filled with people drinking wine at tables in the open in the warm evening air. NAVONA SQUARE The Piazza is not so much a square so much as a long narrow piazza whose shape corresponds to that of the stadium of the Roman Emperor Domitian which once stood there. In the cellars of the houses and restaurants which surround the square it is still possible to see the well preserved foundations of the seats of the Roman stadium. SAINT PETER The area is always full of life and there is no more beautiful sight in Rome than St Peter’s in the early morning before the crowds arrive when you can admire the great church in peace and look down the vast Via della Conciliazione to the river. To stay even for a short while in the heart of Christendom is an experience like no other.

Lovely - and very central!

Everything was great - clean, beautiful - it's really quite a modern work of art in a very old building - it must have taken a lot of work! Location was so good - we could wander Rome, pop back into the apartment before heading out for a second round. We cooked some evenings, and the atmosphere is wonderful. Everything is as described - and - I have already recommended it to someone else! We didn't meet Giampaolo, but Massimo met us - very lively and fun - and helpful. Everything's nearby - I had bought bus/tram tickets, but didn't need them - and we wound up walking everywhere! (And I didn't think the steps to the apt. were anything to worry about.) For Rome, very quiet, and yes, I'd stay here again!

Great place in the historic center!

This is a great apartment in about the best location you can find in the historic center of Rome. It is a 10 minute walk to St. Peter's, 15 to the Colliseum, 5 to Campo dei Fiori, less than 10 to Piazza Navona.

The apartment is nicely furnished and very comfortable. I stayed there for two months straight. I spent many full days in the apartment working and it was very adequate for my purpose.

The owner of the apartment, Giampaolo, is a very warm, thoughtful and helpful gentleman who focused on making sure that my stay was excellent.

I highly recommend this property for any length stay in Rome!

magnificent apartment in Rome

Review Submitted: July 31, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We stayed a week at this magnificent apartment in Rome (from 23 June 2009), a real jewel in the historic centre, near Campo de' Fiori, Trastevere and Piazza Navona, on the second floor of an old building (from 1600). It looks out onto a small piazza, with a small supermarket and a restaurant. It is luxuriously renovated, with nice old features, old wooden beams in the ceiling, leaded glass doors in the shower and bedroom, and even a marble statue in the hall.
The landlord is kind and easy.
There is free internet connection, LCD flatscreen, airconditioning, etcetera. Spotlessly clean, with everything you could ask for and dream of. Very spacious, with enormous storage space in the wonderful built-in wardrobe. Huge four poster bed, with excellent quality mattress; high quality bathroom and kitchen (with design bidet and toilet, high quality dishwasher, fridge and freezer, even an electric waste grinder built into the kitchen sink). The kitchen is stocked with a nice supply of food (all the elementary things) which is really handy for short time lets. Lots of kitchen utensils: even a pasta machine, juicer, kitchen robot, at least 2 sets of dishware,...
To reach the flat easy, quick and cheap: take the train from Fiumicino to Trastevere (several per hour), then take tram 8 to Largo di Torre Argentina (endstop), cross the road (to bookshop Feltrinelli) and take bus 40, 62 or 64, ... to Chiesa Nuova. Then cross the traffic lights to the Via Cartari.
Our week stay was a real home from home. And all this for the price of a three star hotel. We lóved it and can certainly recommend it!

Great apartment near Campo di Fiori

Review Submitted: December 20, 2008 Date of Stay: December 2008
This is an excellent choice for a stay in Rome. I stayed here for four nights, and I was impressed with the cleanliness of the apartment, its location, and the authentic "feel" one gets by staying here instead of a hotel. The owner met me at the apartment, described how everything worked, and answered several question I had via email both before my arrival and during my stay. The apartment includes a nice library of books, DVDs, and is decorated with nice art work.

As far as the location is concerned, it is really quite good. The apartment is within walking distance of most sites in the historic district, and getting to further off places is easy with the busses running between Roma Termini (Train Station) and the Vatican stopping only a block away. Also, there are several good eats nearby, including The Library Restaurant (TripAdvisor's #1 restaurant in Rome) and my personal favorite, Le Maschere.

If you have trouble climbing stairs, be advised that there is a bit of a hike to get to the apartment. However, I would strongly recommend that anyone else consider this apartment for a vacation rental.
Owner's Response: good advise for the stairs but the apartment reward u for this small effort.
thanx

Beautiful apartment - great location

American Tourists Washington, DC
Review Submitted: October 2, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
We spent a long time searching on the Internet for the perfect, while affordable apartment. My wife, son, and I spent 9 days roaming around Rome, and we were quite fortunate to have picked Giampaolo's apartment.

It was recently renovated, and it looks great. High ceilings, nice bathroom and shower area, and a good kitchen. The internet access, DVD player, stereo, flatscreen TV, and even surround sound were nice touches. It had everything else we needed, too -- iron, hairdryer, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, and even a portable crib.

The apartment is located on a little square with bakeries, cafes, and a grocery store. Very convenient. Meanwhile, it was a short walk to the market at Campo dei Fiori and not far from Piazza Navona. We were able to walk to most major sites within 25 minutes or less.

Giampaolo was helpful and and easy to communicate with. He was responsive before our arrival as well as when we were there -- whenever we had any questions.
Owner's Response: it is a real pleasure to receive review like this .
thanx
