We have just returned from our European trip of 2 months and I have to say that the 2 weeks spent at Villa Mila was incredible. The first week was with 12 friends from Canada and the U.S. We had 4 seperate cars but all arrived within 10 minutes of each other!! We arrived early while the place was being made ready for us by Mirella and her staff and she made us welcome by setting us up in the garden where we had the our first meal of a wonderful first week. Lucky we had picked up food on our way through Lenago so the time was spent eating and drinking and catching up on the adventures of driving in Italy! Our second week was with 8 of our family from Ireland. We all loved the Villa and all it had to offer. The grand piano was well used and no one to disturb with the late night sing songs! It is a beautiful place and we all felt so fortunate that we got to stay and enjoy it all. We never felt on top of each other as we had so much space. The place has history, charm, lovely antiques, great space and we used all the amenities. Mirella was a great help when we hit any glitches - i.e. how does one pay a parking ticket, among a dozen things we needed her help with. You could not ask for a better location as there are so many amazing historic towns and cities near by. My advise - don't hesitate - step into the magic that is Villa Mila!

I stayed at Villa Mila in September 2006 with 7 girlfriends. We had a wonderful time, and I would go back again if we had a large group. The Villa is lovely, as are the grounds. And the town is great - an easy, flat 3 minute walk at most, with a nice gelato selection, delicious take-away pizza, a cafe or two, and a nice restaurant close by the property (but not too close, there was no noise, no traffic), and an ATM. We walked in for gelato almost every night. There was a large-ish Iper or Coop grocery up the road in Legnago, just off the exit. We used 7 bedrooms, all upstairs - I do not remember a ground floor bedroom - and most had their own bath. The fixtures and plumbing aren't brand new, but everything works just fine. Most of the beds were feather if I remember correctly. All the rooms and furnishings are lovely with many antiques. The house is stone, so absolutely quiet, no creaking stairs. The kitchen arrangement was unusual - sink and fridge in one room, huge stone sink and laundry in another, stove in the casual dining room. But it all worked just fine and we enjoyed gathering there to plan our days and get feuled up on coffee. There were plenty of rooms for everyone to spread out in and most were large enough for us all to get together, including the lovely covered terrace. We had 2 cars and did day trips to Mantova, Padova, Ravenna, Ferrara, a winery north of Verona, and Montagnana (a cute little walled town with no tourists - don't miss it). All were less than a 2 hour drive, except maybe Ravenna. Some of us flew into Bologna and drove up, others flew into Venice and took the train (a very small train) down. Both were easy trips. The villa provided bikes - the paths along the river are nice and flat. There were some other tenants living in another part of the complex - I never saw anyone but would notice another car at times. There is plenty of parking - probably for 6+ cars. I would recommend a car. With the train station in town I suppose you could rely on that but I am sure the schedule is very limited. It would probably take you 10 mins to walk to the station, but its entirely flat and paved. My friends arrived and left on a 1 car train (and someone - Mirella I think - was kind enough to pick one up and bring her to the Villa when we were late arriving!). Mirella was a great help and so welcoming. She even went with us to a local polenta festival one night - great fun and food! Writing all this makes me want to go back asap.

We had a great stay at Vila Mila, a villa big enough for the twelve of us (almost every room had an own bathroom). Location is close to Verona, Venice and Lake Garda, so we had the possibility to make a lot of daily trips.
