Perfect Place to Stay in Rincon with Kids!

We just returned from a lovely, wonderful, FABULOUS stay at Pete's house in Rincon, and couldn't be happier. Pete was so easy to work with-his family was down in Rincon a day before us and he even offered to pick up some groceries for us and have them waiting for us. The house was immaculate, and much larger than I was expecting. There was even a booklet waiting for us listing some of the places we should be sure to check out (do NOT miss Banana Dang if you go to Rincon-I am still fantasizing about it a week later!).
I know many people come to Rincon to surf, and I'm sure this house would be just fine for that; however, we came with our 18 month old son and I can say without a doubt that this house was PERFECT for traveling with kids. Spacious, easy to keep clean and a fully stocked kitchen which made preparing meals (and cocktails!) at home a breeze. Plus, pretty much the biggest endorsement I can give as a parent: my finicky sleeper slept AMAZINGLY during our whole stay.
A couple things to know: you definitely need a car to get around-the house is located up the hill from the town and I suppose you could walk, but getting to and from the beaches and various restaurants was very easy with a car. Also, our son happens to be completely fearless in the ocean (to a somewhat frightening degree), but if you come with a child who is a bit more unsure of the water, know that the waves can be quite rough here. FInally, there were a couple nights when the neighborhood, although very residential, was louder than I would have anticipated. I think this is true throughout much of Puerto Rico, though (dogs kept out at night, cars without mufflers and no glass in the windows!) and since it didn't disturb my son, I didn't care.
Overall, our stay was so amazingly relaxing (not a given when traveling with a child!) that we looked into extending our stay, but were thwarted by the cost of changing our flights. I highly recommend looking into staying here if you're considering a trip to Rincon-I looked into various hotels before turning to home rentals and Pete's property was the best deal I came across.
