Pluses and Minuses
Micalet II was one of four apartments that my husband and I and friends rented in May, 2012. Although the apartment was in an absolutely perfect location, and the living/dining room beautifully furnished, there were pluses and minuses that should be considered before staying. Unlike the other three apartments that we rented, this one was apparently a corporate apartment. We found nothing in the kitchen (i.e. coffee, tea, salt, pepper, etc), There was no coffee pot, just a water boiler. There were maintenence issues (light bulbs out; broken toilet seat) that could not be fixed during our stay since we arrived on a Friday evening. The clothes dryer did not work. In all fairness, the property manager did her best to be helpful. She bought clothes pins and extra towels. I also spoke with Spain Select after our stay and they appreciated our comments and apologized. I do think that the maintenence issues will be resolved. The big negative was the second bedroom. This is NOT an appropriate apartment for two couples. The second bedroom is not only very small, but the bathroom would be impossible for any large adult and has no privacy. Both the toilet and shower are behind a clear glass door and it is not possible to close the door in the toilet (not that it would matter) if you are larger than a child. The sink and closet on the other side of the room are concealed by a sliding door such that you cannot use the sink and access the closet at the same time. In short, this is a perfect apartment for one couple and a child, or one other adult. On the plus side, the apartment is in a fantastic location, on the main plaza but the triple thermopane windows block out all of the noise. If the maintenence problems are resolved, and you are two or three people, I would recommend the apartment.
