Albuquerque House Rental Photos and Description

House, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

Casa de Paiz is a classic, cozy split-level 1100 square foot adobe home, sitting on a secluded acre of Pinon-Juniper woods at the north end of the Sandia Mountains, within easy driving distance from Santa Fe and Albuquerque. It's a perfect couple's getaway featuring a large and luxuriously appointed master bedroom with a California-king size bed and a decorative kiva fireplace, a large bathroom with separate tub and shower, new completely equipped kitchen, nice views from large windows, a covered patio in front next to the lily pond, and a very private patio outside the master bedroom. The bedroom and den both have flat screen LCD TV's, with access to Netflix and Hulu streaming movies and TV shows plus over-the-air network tv. All your computing and communications needs are met with a desk-top computer, printer, wi-fi and landline telephone. A double size futon (sofa bed) in the den can be used by a 3rd and 4th guest.

In warm weather enjoy the cool breeze in the shade of the portale waiting for hummingbirds to visit the flowers and dragonflies to visit the lily pond, or the beautiful view of the Jemez Mountains 40 miles away while sunbathing on the bedroom patio. Star-gazing is excellent on clear, moon-less nights, as the lights of Albuquerque are hidden on the other side of the mountain. Year-round birding opportunities abound in the area with many feathered friends visiting our feeders and the lily pond.

Recreation and outdoor adventure opportunities abound in the area, with the 10,600 foot Sandia Mountains at hand with winter snow sports and summer mountain biking and many miles of hiking trails including nearby trails in the foothills that are accessible year-round. The annual Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, featuring hundreds of colorful hot air balloons from around the world, is held in early October and is just 20 minutes away.

Nearby Indian Pueblos offer excellent golf courses, casino gambling and entertainment venues. Throughout the year Pueblos have traditional dances that are open to the public.

Experience the colorful Southwestern culture, unique shopping opportunities and fine dining in Santa Fe and Albuquerque Old Town, both an easy drive from Placitas. But there are great restaurants close by as well in Placitas and the town of Bernalillo.

Your hosts Joel and Mary Lou live nearby in Albuquerque (25 minutes away) and are readily available to help make your stay very enjoyable and comfortable.

Please note that Casa de Paiz is ADULTS only, and NO PETS are allowed.

CONCERNED ABOUT WINTER ACCESS? Not likely to be a problem as this area just gets a little more snow than Albuquerque - 1-3 inches several times a year, rarely more. When it does snow the road crews clear Highway 165 quickly.

Exceptional Home

  • 5 of 5
Casa de Paiz is an exceptional vacation rental. Located a short drive from Albuquerque, the home is nestled in the hills in scenic--and peaceful--surroundings that offer an amazing view of the night sky. The patio, gardens, and koi pond simply add to the serenity. There's plenty of area to walk and discover nature. The home itself is immaculate. Every detail has been considered--live plants in every room, a well-maintained kitchen, comfortable den, tourist brochures, a notebook with helpful information--and many other additions not often found in vacation rentals. The owner(s) was extremely accommodating and gracious. It is obvious that the owner(s) considers Casa de Paiz not just a vacation rental property but a home. The next time we visit the Albuquerque area we will arrange our schedule so that we can stay at Casa de Paiz. We highly recommend it.

"Outstanding Casita!"

"Outstanding Casita!"

We had such a wonderful time in this beautiful and well-appointed casa that we are already planning to visit again. The personal touches were comforting and we looked forward to coming 'home' every evening after visiting the many surrounding sites. All of the views are spectacular and the fact that nature is right outside of your door is special. This is definitely the one place everyone needs to consider when staying near Albuquerque & Santa Fe. Thank you Joel and Mary Lou for everything and we will see you again!

Adobe Delight

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I have stayed in quite a few VRBO properties, as well as other private listings, in a lot of different places over the past several years. None equal this crazily wonderful in so many different ways place called Casa de Paiz. Beautiful private setting with amazing indoor and outdoor spaces. A place that lacks nothing for creature comforts and good for the Soul. Really hard to leave(after 7 days). We'll be back!

Spring Get-Away

  • 5 of 5
We spent a great week here in early April. The property is in a pleasant setting with a sense of seclusion, yet only a short distance from the main road. The location is very convenient to take day trips to ABQ, Santa Fe, Tent Rocks, Jemez Mountains (hot springs) and more. The property is well maintained and appointed, even down to a backpack and coolers for day trip picnics. The owners description is spot on. We would recommend this property to our friends and would stay there again.

Exactly As Promised!

  • 5 of 5
Joel and Mary Lou were there to greet us and show us around when arrived late that evening. That was such a nice touch.

Everything about this location was exactly as promised. The house was immaculate and the location couldn't be beat. At the end of Highway 165, we didn't hear traffic, noise, or anything except the birds.

Close enough to Albuquerque but far enough from town to be a peaceful retreat. We enjoyed watching the birds and checking out the area. At the end of the highway (about 1/2 mile from the house) is a dirt road that was full of adventure (the Sandia Cave hike), beauty (a gorgeous creek in the woods), and fun. I highly recommend off roading a bit.

Prompt with communication, help, and with the return of our security deposit, Joel and Mary Lou are definitely the ones to rent from!

A Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I spent 8 nights at Casa de Paiz over Christmas and really enjoyed it. The house is very well equipped with everything you need to make it a home. Also, the king-sized bed in the bedroom is very comfortable. We highly recommend staying here.
