Overview

Saint-Sauveur Cabin Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms, 1 3/4 bathrooms, sleeps 8

Historic 1940's log cabin. Four Season, cozy chalet in traditional log cabin style on the shores of the non-motorized and unique Lac Pierre Aubin. The home sits in a sunny glen surrounded by an acre of woods with a stream flowing through the property. A private path leads down the hiil and across our bridge to the sandy beach with swimming dock, picnic tables, volleyball net, swings and seesaws for kids. Pedal boat provided for lake access. Campfire site by the lake. Lake stocked with trout. Lots of wildlife. Canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, tennis and road cycling.

In the winters, a great sledding hill is right outside our door, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and skating. Alpine skiing at 15 resorts; as close as 5 minutes (Mt. Avalanche), 15 minutes to Morin-Heights (our favorite) and 50 minutes to Mt. Tremblant. Nearby: Spas, restaurants, shopping nearby.

House 1200 sq. ft and features a rustic living room with large stone fireplace, sunny dining room with large table for 8

Sleeps 8 in peaceful cozy comfort: The large stone fireplace is perfect for cozy evenings and early mornings. There are beamed ceilings and hardwood floors throughout the home. The kitchen looks out over the lake and is especially beautiful in the late afternoon when you can enjoy the sunset. A large dining room overlooking the lake is perfect for family meals. Down duvets, down pillows and quality mattresses in all the bedrooms. The downstairs bedroom features a full-size bunk-bed and sleeps 4. Open the window and listen to the stream outside. Downstairs 3/4 bath has full size washer/dryer. Upstairs, the bedroom overlooking the lake has 2 twin beds nestled under dormer windows. Let the bullfrogs sing you to sleep. Our master bedroom has a mahogany four-poster bed and walnut dresser. Through open windows enjoy the silence of the woods and the call of the loons. Full size bath upstairs. The whole house is snug and warm in the winter.

Get away, relax and unplug: This is an ideal spot to get away from everything. We've chosen to 'unplug' ourselves and the kids: there's no TV or internet service in this getaway spot. You WILL find games, books and lots reasons to get outside or stay in and curl up in a cozy spot with a book or for a chat. We bring along our laptops and watch DVD's there.

When we need to 'check-in', St Adolphe d'Howard is a short 10 minute drive through the woods to the Internet Café (Le Beau-Lieu) where there's great coffee and paninis. The village has several café's, restaurants/boulangeries, video rental, clinic and pharmacie. Spa d'Howard is 10 minutes away and offers full spa amenities. Other Nordic spas (Ofuro, Le Refuge, Le Baltique) are within 20 minute drive. St. Sauveur and St Agathe are 20 minutes from our house with everything they both offer.

It takes a day or two to slow down to 'cabin speed' but even our teenagers like the change of pace!

Enjoy the beautiful Laurentians: Our lake is unique; it has a community and swim beach on the east end, and no roads or development on the west end. With a short 10 minute paddle you are enjoying quiet Canadian woods mingling with beavers, otters and loons. The lake is stocked with trout for good fishing.

We are in the heart of the Laurentian mountains, well-known for its vacation activities. Biking along the Petite Train du Norde, Go-Carts, Water-parks, Horseback riding, ATV (VTT) rentals, pontoon, motorboat and sailboat rentals. Hiking, golfing, tennis, rollerblading and skateboard park, jet-skiing, and camping are some of the activities nearby. During winter months in town there is are community skating rinks with skate rentals, hockey and hot beverages. Snow shoe rentals and miles of trails are also available. Snowmobile rentals in town.

Year-round spas, antique stores, restaurants (serving both local specialties and international fare), boutiques and

specialty shops are everywhere.

Lovely lakefront cabin for a family

  • 5 of 5
Our family of 5 spent a week at this wonderful chalet. It was very quiet and private. We really enjoyed the beach and the private dock where we watched the sunset. Unfortunately we had a lot of rain and cooler weather but still managed to get out in the kayaks and paddleboat to tour the lake. The chalet was very comfortable, cozy beds and lots of space to relax. We also really appreciated the well-stocked board games shelves and enjoyed countless hours of games during the heavy rains. We loved the area and hope to return someday, perhaps in the winter for a ski vacation?!?

Winter wonderland!

  • 5 of 5
We had a fabulous time at this charming chalet. We were blessed with abundant snow late in the season, and my kids were enthralled! They were happy to sled and build snow forts on the cabin property, while I stayed warm and toasty inside by the fire. I even managed to read three books during the week! We did drag the kids away to explore the area, and had lots of adventures. We went dogsledding in St. Hippolyte, tubing in Saint-Saveur, snow shoeing in St. Adolphe, and visited a sugar shack since we were there during the maple syrup season. We ate well, at the cabin and at area restaurants. My family is already planning a return visit during the summer months!

We had an AMAZING time!

  • 5 of 5
Spotless cabin, lots of space. Excellent location- well removed from city limits but within a short drive to activities and shopping- very central location. No problems with being snowed in, plowing was very timely, amazing considering the snowstorm that blew through while we were there! Excellent customer service- the owner's local representative met us in town and guided us up to the cabin. Phone numbers provided should we require anything while there. We had a lovely time checking out the local shops and attractions, and we didn't even need to worry about taking the kids anywhere- skating on the lake and tobogganing right outside the door! Great opportunity for photos both inside and outside the cabin! We will be visiting again!

A Beautiful Cottage

  • 5 of 5
I had the good fortune to rent this lovely cottage for 3 months (Dec-Feb) in 2011-12; while the skiing in St. Saveur was terrific, I could just as easily have spent my time in the cottage - such a beautiful fireplace! The roads and driveway were always ploughed, we never had an issue getting to and from the ski hills no matter how much snow there was. And the town of St. Adolphe has everything you could need, a mere 10 minute drive from the cottage. We tobogganed on the adjascent hill clear out to the lake, skated on that lake, even tried icefishing ( no luck). I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a perfect winter getaway.

A real treasure!

  • 5 of 5
Our stay at the cabin was simply wonderful! Not only were the accomodations extremely comfortable four our whole family (parents, grandparents and three kids aged 12 years to two months), but the location provided much to do, regardless of the weather. Indoor and outdoor fireplaces were a real treat for us city-dwellers! The beach is really within steps of the cabin, making it extremely easy with children. We certainly look forward to our next stay!
