1930'S ARTIST'S BEACH COTTAGE, BEACHCOMBER WAY, ST AUGUSTINE

St. Augustine Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Cottage, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, Sleeps 2-4

Come and relax at our enchanting 1930’s totally renovated cottage by the sea. We've decorated it with charming vintage finds. Immerse yourself in the world of Old Florida, the way it used to be. Grab your coffee and watch the dolphins play while the pelicans fly overhead. Walk along our quiet beach to the inlet where you can see the old St Augustine lighthouse on the other side and other historical sites.

Many activities are available, parasailing, fishing, kayaking, boating. Why not sail on the pirate ship “Black Raven' If you sail on Wednesday it docks at Aunt Kate’s restaurant for a delicious seafood dinner. We also love walking to our favorite local restaurants for breakfast, lunch or dinner. (We’ll leave you a list). You can walk to the post office and our beautiful pier (you can fish from it) too.

Feel like visiting the fourteenth century? A short ride over the bridge and you are in ancient St. Augustine. The oldest settlement and fort in the USA

Explore the historical sites and enjoy the family owned restaurants. Take a tour. Either a trolley or a romantic horse and carriage ride.

Fall asleep to the sound of the surf and the swaying palm trees.

Enjoy!

We rented a cottage in the area and fell in love with it. I had always dreamed of having a place where we could grab our coffees and walk the beach. The charming quaint cottages and the quietness of the area are so relaxing. There is a beautiful nature walk across the street.

Having the ancient city of St Augustine so close by makes the location perfect. Interesting restaurants and beautiful architecture just make it a dream location. We love and use the cottage when it is not rented.

I had an extended stay here and really enjoyed it. I was very comfortable, within steps to the beach, and the cottage was stocked with everything I needed even for a few months. I'd definitely recommend it!

LOVELY BUNGALOW!! WHAT A TREAT!

  • 5 of 5
We had the most wonderful time at this adorable cottage! It was hard to leave! Not only is the private beach a few steps away, but the immediate outdoor space made it so easy to relax outside and enjoy the Florida sunshine. There are multiple seating areas, and an upper deck where you'll find a hammock. The little details that the owners put into this place are really special, and it is so welcoming and cozy inside. Can't wait to go back!

COZY COASTAL COTTAGE

  • 5 of 5
We love this little cottage. We stayed here twice and are plannig on returning again this summer. Reasonably priced and conveniently located steps from the beach and walking distance from grocery store, shopping and restaurants. Very easy setup. If you head to the shore early enough (7ish), you'll see dolphins!!!! Very clean and cute.

HOT BOX

  • 1 of 5
Arrived the afternoon of August 20, 2013 to a house that had the AC turned off for whatever reason. House was over 110 degrees inside. 2 small older wall AC units didn't cut it! All we wanted to do was relax in a nice cool house after driving over 12 hours...Didn't happen! Owner argued with me over the phone when I told her I wasn't happy and that I wasn't staying. She wouldn't take "no" for an answer! She argued with me for an unreasonable amount of time. I finally told her that I would give the AC units time to cool the house...after waiting a couple hours the older wall units just couldn't cut through the heat of summertime in Florida. Long story short...We were sooooo uncomfortable we just wanted our money back so we could find some place else to stay and be on our way. When she finally agreed to give us some of our money back she ended up keeping almost $400.00 of our money (for a 2 hour stay)...we paid her the entire balance up front because she said that is what we needed to do ahead of time..NEVER AGAIN! I could see maybe keeping $100 or $150...Maybe??? I may have considered renting again in a cooler season if she wouldn't have been so greedy by keeping my money. Spent the next day looking for a different place to stay...ruined the first night and next day of our vacation. I had this up a few months ago...but, someone must have taken it down.

Owner's Response: I am happy to write we have been renting our cottage out for 5 years and have had nothing but glowing reviews and repeat guests.

Unfortunately our cleaning crew turned the air conditioners off and it was hot. I told the guest to get some cold bottled water out of the refrigerator and sit in the shade while the cottage cooled off. I also suggested we would buy her lunch while the cottage cooled off. She was insistent about leaving and wanted a refund. I explained to her that we had turned away other guests because she was booked for that time period and that we would lose a substantial amount of revenue. Her husband got on the phone and told me he thought the cottage was lovely and he was sorry for all the trouble. He thanked me for refunding $600.00.

Summer is prime time at our cottage. I don't think this guest could handle the Florida heat.

WELCOMING AND COMFORTABLE COTTAGE CONVENIENTLY LOCATED

  • 5 of 5
We had a fabulous time at this cottage and loved being so close to the water with young kids and our labs who just had a blast in the waves. Very relaxing atmosphere and we enjoyed reading both outdoors at the many tables and chairs or indoors in the reading room and book nook. Many conveniences provided so you don't need to bring much.

Notes:
A short walk down the beach or down the road from the cottage and you will find a wonderful breakfast/lunch cafe. Also two other really good restaurants within walking distance.....we'll leave you all the info. There is also a cozy area on the screened porch to have your wake- up coffee. A wonderful way to end the day is sitting on the deck, high in the palm trees, feeling the ocean breeze. You can see a little bit of the ocean!
