I am a professional musician and home remodeler in New Orleans. I moved to the crescent city 16 years ago to receive my degree in jazz performance and fell in love with the uptown culture. After Hurricane Katrina I started purchasing destroyed properties and rebuilding them, restoring them back to their prime. I was even featured on the show 'Flip that House'. I have completed 6 full home renovations in the uptown New Orleans area. Most of them are gorgeous old duplex properties that I still own and rent now.

Brandon Tarricone purchased this house in 2004

This was the first house I purchased and I lived in it for years. I was living there when Katrina happened (this house did not flood), and only moved after rebuilding another house for myself in a destroyed part of town to help bring a different neighborhood back. This is my and many other peoples favorite areas of of New Orleans. lots of people love this area because of jacquimos and the maple leaf, and the whole vibe of oak street with all of the good people, spots and fun. I own 2 houses on this block with a total of 5 units. I love it. They are both gorgeous old houses that I have fully restored

Oak street area is a great area with the maple leaf bar, and Carrolton Station close by, and the coffee shops and restaurants just a block away its a really relaxing, fun area to be in. Never crowded with tourists, its still very centrally located in New Orleans. The universities and the parks are all just around the corner. the Mississippi River rolls by just 3 blocks away and there are so many fun things to do.

The house was as advertised. Very comfortable and had everything we needed. Owner was great to work with. It was convenient to French Quarter. We would stay there again.

WONDERFUL STAY

  • 5 of 5
Great spot, and a cool house. We walked over to the Maple Leaf and caught Rebirth Brass band one night, and John Clearly and George Porter with Johnny Vidocovitch another night. Great food up and down Oak street, but besides Jacquimos, which is of course the famous- must eat spot, we enjoyed Oak Wine bar, with good food and free bands each night. Good stuff…. the house had plenty of space, clean and all that important stuff….

GRADUATION WEEKEND

  • 5 of 5
We came to New Orleans for a Law School graduation and thoroughly enjoyed the house. Three grandchildren loved the space, and we ended the weekend with a cookout and party. Transportation on the St. Charles streetcar was a few blocks from the house, and good coffeehouses and restaurants were everywhere (one block from Jacque-Imos, best restaurant in town). Will return again and again.

OAK STREET IS THE SPOT

  • 5 of 5
This area is super underrated, its one of the coolest local spots in NOLA. The house was legit and business was straight shooting too... I wish I lived on this block though. This was our second time staying off Oak Street.
