Osa Peninsula, Puerto Jimenez, new luxury house, beachfront, unique architecture

We stayed in this villa at the end of july 2012. The moment you see the house you are transfered to another world. The architecture is very nice and you really live in a different environment then what you are used to (we are Canadians).
All the rooms are very confortable and private. They each have their own bathroom.

Do not worry about living in an open environment, bugs or other non invited guest did not showed at all !!! I usually require air conditionning when it is hot but we didn't need it except for the first night where it was 25 degrees (85F). A pedestal fan did the job but was not required the other nights. The ceiling fan is just OK ! The beds are very comfortable.

We choose to have the chef (Luis) for our stay and I must say : It is a must ! For the difference in price it made us live a completely different vacation. Imagine going to the Corcovado park with lunch made by Luis, when you come back exhausted, you are welcome with a Pina Colada made from fresh localy grown pinaple, you jump in the pool, get another drink, go take a shower and Voila Dinner is served ! It made us feel so relax and free.

Luis is a very nice cook and will please all. Do not expect "Haute Gastronomie" but he will make you meals with fresh local products. He is also a very good fisherman and will prepare you catch of the day if you want ! We highly recommand his services.

The beach close by is very nice, Only sand, no rock, coral or other stuff to hurt your feet. It was very nice getting asleep with the sound of the ocean. It is also very private. (we never saw anyone close to our place during our stay). I must say that the house is very remote (about 500m) from the closest neighbour. Don't worry, a guardian "caretaker" live full time in a small house close to Atrevida making you and your stuff when you're gone feel safe. The house is surrounded with tropical forest and the chance to see monkeys is very good. We saw a familly
of squirrel monkeys almost everyday.

Regarding activities in the area, Corcovado national park is THE place to go if you come that far in Costa Rica. If you travel with kids, a multi days treking experience is not an option. Go to Cabo Matapalo. and enjoy trails and meals ($) from Lapa Rios or Bosque del Cabo. Also, go surf there It is such a beautiful place. In one hour there, we saw the 4 kinds of monkeys living in Costa Rica and tons of Scarlet Macaws.
