New to the rental market in 2013, 'Milky Way' is a luxury Cabin on a private 400 acre mountain ranch adjacent to the Pisgah National forest with hiking/riding trails, mountain streams and stunning south facing Smoky Mountain views! The 2800 Sq Ft. beautifully appointed cabin features a gourmet kitchen adjacent to the Great Room and has everything for your relaxing needs including a wood burning fireplace (firewood supplied), dining table, large flat screen TV, leather recliner and comfortable seating throughout, opening onto the screened porch for outdoor dining and lounging while overlooking the landscape-lit garden and mountain ranges to the south. Each bedroom has the finest linens and furnishings, flat screen TV's and porch, with an en suite bathroom in the master, a shared bathroom for the two queen rooms and another bathroom for the loft. The loft offers a cozy family room with seating that converts into 2 twin beds and is the perfect place for the X BOX Kinect, movies,Yoga, office work or a quiet place to read.

Milima Ranch truly is a destination of 4 seasons. The winter offers some exceptional snow days and the landscape transforms into a dramatic canvas that reveals the very backbone of the land which is hidden in the lush months of the summer..Magical!

The summer and fall months yet again present an ever changing canvas of the mountains and the wildflowers are a sight to be seen. A special treat starting in September is the ripening of the apple trees that are scattered throughout the 400 acres, followed shortly after by the fiery fall leaf season.

Romantic, Outdoor/Active or Nature Getaway: The cabin lends itself equally to a romantic getaway for a couple or a gathering of up to 8 people without compromising comfort or coziness. The split level offers privacy and comfort and a cozy corner or porch for everyone.

For the Outdoor enthusiasts there are many trails throughout the 400 acres that offer a nature lovers paradise. The wildlife and rare botanical species abound on the conservation land which protects the watersheds that are the source of Fines Creek and The Pigeon River.

Located in Western North Carolina, Milima (mi-lee-muh) Ranch sits on 400 acres of pristine conservation land surrounded by the Smoky Mountains and Pisgah Forest. Very secluded and private, it is conveniently accessed off I-40, only 5 minutes from exit to entrance, allowing for quick trips to the surrounding attractions, including Asheville and its famous Biltmore Estate, Waynesville, Maggie Valley, Cataloochee Ski Area, Cherokee, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Great Smoky Mountains and Lake Junaluska to name a few. These areas offer activities for everybody including skiing, golfing, fishing, white water rafting, canoeing, zip lining, hunting and many more, all within 15-40 minutes of the cabin.

This unique mountain retreat offers not only first class accommodation but also the perfect escape for the Outdoor enthusiast. Numerous trails for both hiking and riding traverse the 400 acres, ascending from 3200 to 4200 feet, with spectacular flora and fauna, mountain streams and wildlife. MILKY WAY CABIN AT MILIMA RANCH

An outstanding experience for a girls week retreat and I look forward to bringing my family. The pictures of the cabin do not do it justice. It is 5 Star throughout and I have been at many cabins. Our host went above and beyond to ensure that we had WIFI access for a business conference, fresh flowers in the candle tiara on the dining room table as well as ensuring the bird feeders were filled repeatedly so we could enjoy the hummingbirds and many birds. Bring nothing – it is all there. All views from the cabin are a joy, the hiking trails are well groomed, the locals (if you are lucky enough to meet them) and the valley below they treasure are beautiful. Waynesville has much to offer if you have an afternoon to wander and have great restaurants. Asheville is a short 30 minute drive on the interstate.

Will Return Again For Third Consecutive Year

For the second October in as many years, my wife and I, together with two other couples, have enjoyed the stunning vistas and the first class accommodations provided by the Milky Way cabin. Whether enjoying an early morning coffee on the screen porch or the late night glass of wine around the outdoor fire pit, the experience is indeed unique. The natural beauty of the Southern Appalachian highlands is on full display both inside and outside Milky Way. The beauty of both the surrounding natural environment and the cabin itself are well illustrated by the photos on this site. The hiker is rewarded by vistas that a camera can never accurately replicate. We will be returning for a third trip this October.

I had forgotten to rate this property until I began making plans for my 2013 vacation. When it comes to restaurants and accommodations I readily admit I am very picky. This mountain gem is the best I have rented in the NC mountains and being a Tar Heel I have rented many. The beauty, surroundings, tranquility, and the house are all outstanding. To make your stay even better, the owner, Georgina knows how to react with and accommodate people. You will remember this property long after you have depart through the gate.
