This beautiful home with private guest house is centrally located in the Halifax/Hubbards corridor on the prestigious St. Margaret's Bay. An easy 30-minute ride to the ancient Halifax fortifications, Peggy's Cove preservation district, and beautiful Mahone Bay / Lunenberg area.

Situated on 4.5 acres of waterfront with over 368 feet of beachy ocean frontage (just across a very private lane) a meadow of wild flowers and roses surround this stunningly well renovated 125 year old country house. Nicely located midway up a rolling grassy slope, this house is a beauty. Rouges Rest is spacious and airy and completely in tune with its pastoral ambience. Large windows look to the ocean and call the light of day inside to this charmingly decorated home.

The main house is 3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths with a separate guest house with kitchenette and private bath, offering the perfect spot to share with friends and visiting family. Modern upgrades have combined with the olden days charm, making this an idyllic getaway.

Anchor your boat in the cove and lounge about the dock by the waterside. Heavenly! Walk or drive to the nearby sand beaches, while enjoying Nova Scotia's finest seafood restaurants. Sail at the nearby St. Margaret's Bay yacht club, or ride your bike and kayak around the nearby coves and fisherman's wharves. There's a large lawn with croquet & badminton sets for your use and enjoyment, and we offer bicycles and two kayaks for exploring the region up close.
