HERMOSA'S FABULOUS BEACHFRONT - ON 'THE STRAND'

My husband and I could not have picked a more perfect location to enjoy a month of warm California sun. This house is right on the strand in Hermosa Beach, offering a variety of fun; water, sand, volley ball, biking, walking or just people watching. When we hung out on the front deck there were several shade umbrellas, canvas beach chairs and cushions for our use besides the enormous picnic table.

We enjoyed several of the local restaurants and a wonderful evening at the world famous Comedy Club. My husband (a chef) travels with a few favorite knives and pans but we were very pleased with the quality and variety of cooking supplies and appliances. And besides the standard grocery store there is a weekly farmers market and several fresh fish markets all within walking distance.

The home itself was very clean and comfortable. A hugh dining table is perfect for reading the paper and sipping morning coffee while watching the beach scene come to life through the four large picture windows. Comfy leather couches and a chair/ottoman are placed around a gas fireplace which we enjoyed each night and morning against the ocean chill. A television is usually not worth mentioning as we have a large screen HD TV at home, but the one in this home is a large LED 3D HD which offered viewing we have never experienced. There is a Jacuzzi just outside in a private side patio that we never did get a chance to use but is kept clean and ready. I appreciate having the washer and dryer so I can keep up on laundry.

We travel in our Yukon GMC XL so we knew we would not be able to use the garage. We were given a resident parking pass to use so parking on the street was never a problem.

Our hosts made us feel welcome, were very accommodating and informative as to the area. We highly recommend this home for location, layout and amenities and look forward to next years stay. Thank you Jack and Piassa.

We rented the house for one week last January. We were a party of 5 (including 2 teenagers and one child).
We spent a lovely vacation in this house. It is exactly as it is shown in the pictures: fully furnished, excellent ocean view, safe neighbourhood and the most important, a very helpful owner, always ready to help you with tips to take the most of your vacations in LA.
It is also important to mention that the owner helped us with the parking with a parking pass that really solve this important issue (since you will be "on the beach").
Overall, a great location and a very nice house.

A beautiful place...the right size for us... a great location... good value! Our stay at this property was just what we wanted AND was exactly what was described on the listing description:

an oceanfront with sunsets and beautiful views from inside and out;
located right on The Strand;
a well-stocked kitchen with every gadget you could want to feel right at home;
a big, big TV and a large library of movie channels;
free wireless internet;
a cozy fireplace;
two baths, two bedrooms;
laundry facilities;
and importantly, a very welcoming home-away-from-home for our 14-year old yellow lab.

Jack did an extraordinary job of making us feel very at home and relaxed. He was so good with our dog and he was genuinely happy to have her stay. He provided us some thirst-quenching welcoming beverages too. He also went way out of his way to try and help me recuperate after our long car journey. He also provided entertainment tips and places we could grab some delicious food. His customer service was outstanding!

We had been to Hermosa Beach several times before, but this was our first time renting a home--something we wanted to try to have a more "like-at-home experience" with our dog in this wonderful community. It was terrific! We like being able to take long walks on the beach or The Strand, and have a fun evening out by walking to the local comedy club, pubs, and restaurants. It's the kind of place you can make it what you want it to be.
