Cozy and Quiet Retreat

Our stay was for 6 days. We chose this location because it was close to home as my husband had just had surgery so we wanted something as a quiet get away but close enough that we could get back to the city if needed. Bonnie was absolutely wonderful to work with and bent over backwards to accommodate us. Our total group consisted of 5 adults and 2 children. 2 of the adults and the children stayed 3 nights
The description listed is accurate to a T. Cabin is small but cozy and beautifully decorated. If there could be one negative with the cabin, and it would be a tiny one, in that it is over decorated. A LOT of knick knacks for such a small space. We had our grandchildren which are 4 and 18 months so it was a challenge to keep tiny hands from touching all the pretty decorations!
All one needs to visit are groceries as everything else is furnished. Bonnie has thought of nearly every convenience to make the stay as pleasant as possible.. Just be aware that the shower in the bathroom is small. My husband is a big guy so the shower stall was really tight when bathing.
We spent most of our time on the wonderful screened in porch. The boys loved the porch swing and the adults lounged on the comfortable furniture. The evenings on the porch was especially delightful with a nice glass of wine and candlelight.
If you have walking problems, then the pathways are tough to maneuver as they are cobblestone and very uneven. The grounds are not flat so pick a pathway carefully but it is not a deterrent and in no way a distraction from the property. This is just noted so anyone with difficulty in walking can be aware.
The men fished everyday for a week and caught only 4 fish! Not a record but most enjoyable just the same. What we were surprised at was the lack of mosquitos and bugs. We took plenty of bug spray but did not need to use any, which was great.
Our son and his wife have already planned to go back to the cabin in the fall for a weekend retreat. This is an ideal place for young lovers or for old folks who want to rekindle the love fires!

I am also glad you like the rustic decor; it was a labor of love and I was surprised to discover a creative part of me.
