The Shipwright Suite is a unique two bedroom apartment on the top floor of our heritage building. Wake up to views of the Harbour Bridge, and enjoy the view from the living area. The apartment has exposed original sandstone walls throughout. The spacious living area has all luxury mod cons.
The gourmet kitchen is a charming space with raised ceilings, exposed beams and clever lighting. It is sheltered from the dining and living areas, but boasts a grand view of the Harbour Bridge as you prepare your meals on our kitchen island. Four gas stoves, a full sized oven, microwave and full sized fridge will make the most of our fresh Australian produce. A dishwasher and dishwashing liquid/tablets provided. Thoughtful storage areas, a large countertop and a breakfast nook will delight every day.
The laundry area is hidden away with a sink, washing machine/dryer, a drying rack as well as an iron and ironing board.
Sandstone walls line the bedroom, with a separate entry for the ensuite bathroom. See Facility description.
This apartment is popular as a base for corporate travellers as it is ideal for private meetings and small gatherings. High speed WiFi and also cabled connection with no daily limit will allow frequent video conferencing. Morning commutes are traffic-free and reliable on the ferry.

The Balmain East ferry wharf is located just metres away from our doorstep so you can treat yourself to Sydney Harbour ferry rides daily. The Circular Quay to Darling Harbour ferry loops at our wharf every half hour. Only a short 10 minute traffic-free scenic ferry ride to King St Wharf, Darling Park, Darling Harbour, Pyrmont Bay and Jones Bay Wharf. The Growers' Market is held every first Saturday of the month, and the ferry ride to and from the market to the apartment is a little taste of idyllic island life.

Sydney is a city for all four seasons. In summer, festivals dot the city's venues every January weekend and Australia Day with the busiest being Sydney Festival and Mardi Gras. Easter and Anzac Day celebrations in autumn, also Opera on the Harbour. In winter, the winds are calmer and is perfect for sailing in the day, and at night for Vivid Light Festival. Winter is also peak time for cultural events like Sydney Writer's Fest, Sydney Film Festival and NAIDOC. In spring, catch various speaker events and pop up restaurants around town, and visit Hyde Park for Night Noodle Markets during Good Food Month all October.
The Darling Harbour Circular Quay ferry loop services Balmain East. It passes Goat Island, Lavender Bay, Luna Park and bobs under the Sydney Harbour Bridge for beautiful photo opportunities with the Sydney Opera House. Stop at Opera Bar, Botanical Gardens and venture to Mrs Macquaries Chair for the best of Sydney's endless summer. Change ferries here for daytrips to Manly, Taronga Zoo and Watson's Bay. Tall ships and specialty tours depart from here too.
To the west of the wharves, are The Museum of Contemporary Art, The Rocks historic fine dining precinct, Bridgeclimb and the Pylons at Sydney Harbour Bridge as well as Sydney Observatory and Argyle Steps.
The Art Gallery of New South Wales, Hyde Park, The Australian Museum and Sky Tower are within minutes of the CBD - the 442 bus will take you near Town Hall and the Queen Victoria Building.
In Balmain, take an easy historic walk through Darling Street or detour to Ballast Point Park. The peninsula counts numerous local celebrities and national icons who grew up in the area. Most famously Dawn Fraser who learnt to swim at the pool at Elkington Park, one of our loveliest outdoor summer pools.

$200 Cleaning bond is refundable after departure should there be no need to cover incidental items such as (but not limited to):
•Any breakages or damage incurred during your stay.
•Any excessive cleaning charges, above the normal level of cleaning due to the apartment being left in an unacceptable state or additional servicing / cleaning charges.
To secure booking of less than 28 days, full amount plus a $200 bond is required. For long stays, deposit of 28 days is required then weekly advance payment one week before arrival. Balmain Wharf Apartments will not guarantee or confirm a booking or reservation made more than 365-days (1-Year) prior to arrival. Requests and booking expression of interests can be registered.
