It boasts both a Norman Castle and a Church, which stand proudly above this small medieval town on the slopes of Carn Ingli mountain. Ancient streets and pathways lead directly to the river Nevern (Nyfer) Estuary teaming with wildlife. Pretty walks from the town lead the visitor to the heights of Carn Ingli (Mount of Angels) with splendid vistas to Snowdonia, the Wicklow Mountains and St. David's Peninsula. Descend from the heights to the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path with its abundance of wild flowers and secret sheltered coves. Beautiful house in a beautiful location

Everything in the property details is accurate, but there are lots of pluses which aren't mentioned. The huge downstairs seating area has sliding doors onto the patio, and running below the decked area is a stream whose sound enhances the pleasure of eating outdoors. As well as an exceptionally well equipped kitchen, there is a utility room and a conservatory - perfect for drying beach towels. The property has central heating and a woodburner - we were lucky enough to pick a hot and sunny week, but the property would be equally suitable for a winter break. The enormous upstairs attic room has four huge Velux windows with lovely views down over the town to the estuary, and is great for lounging in when it gets too cold to sit on the decking. Should you want TV, there is Sky. The parking area is a big plus too. Newport is lovely, but its quaint narrow streets would be a nightmare to park in. Within a minutes walk there is a tiny local baker - great bread, buns and welsh cakes - a local butcher, chemist, Spar shop and four pubs! The town side of the estuary is tem minutes walk, and the lovely beach is about half an hour down a leafy lane, across the bridge, and along the coastal path. Up past the church and the castle are further leafy lanes which lead to great walking on the Preseli hills. If that all sounds idyllic - well it is.

Wow! We have just returned from Banc y Capel and have had an excellent weekend break. There were 5 adults and 1 baby, a wide age group from 8 months to 59 years and the house and location suited us all.

The property was fabulous and undersold in the pictures. It has been refurbed to a very high standard and contains everything you need and more. The large decking area outside was lovely too and the good weather meant we could BBQ outdoors (disposable BBQs available at the local Spar).

The cot, highchair and fabulous selection of toys were invaluable for us. The house was immaculate and spacious, so you could escape each other if desired. Ample parking is provided, which is a real bonus in Newport and the property is easy walking distance to shops, beach, pubs and restaurants, even with a pushchair.

I will definitely recommend this property to friends and would also recommend The Golden Lion for excellent pub food. There are lots of local activities to keep everyone interested, including canoeing, walks and horse riding. We tried the canoeing on our weekend, it was a very leisurely experience.

The service we received was excellent and it is obvious that this is a very loved property. Next time, we will definitely stay longer and ensure we try all of the local restaurants and more activities. Thank you!

Property was well looked after and clean. Everything in good condition and plenty of space for parking (useful in Newport which has very narrow lanes and not many parking places.

Owner v helpful and answered queries via email.

Good base for exploring N Pembrokeshire which is beautiful. Tourist office full of useful info. Banc y Capel is within walking distance of all amenities in Newport - including the little supermarket which seems to be open all hours. The Parrog (sea front) is a 10 minute walk. There are also several good restaurants within walking distance - particularly good food to be found in The Canteen on the corner of Market Street.

The house is comfortable and spacious with two living areas - the main one downstairs with open plan kitchen, dining area, sitting and TV room, and upstairs in the roof a lovely room with a view towards the sea and lots of natural light. Outside there is a decked area which is great when the sun shines (which it did for one day on our week long holiday!).

Our stay (end of May) was a very wet one. However, we found plenty of things to do as we enjoy walking and our kids like outdoorsy activities. Canoeing at Heritage canoes in Cardigan was a hit, and there is a great wildlife reserve there as well. Walking in the woods when it's raining is fun, and there is a good riding stables just outside Newport. Fantastic massages to be had at the Natural health centre opposite the tourist office.
