For swimming it is best to go to the lake, the waters are medicinal and very good for the skin. the lake is shallow, only up to one meter deep for more than one kilometer offshore, so good for kids and non swimmers alike. No speed boats or jet skis so safe and tranquil. How it should be. Fured is where the Royal families had their summer Palaces and is the best part of the Lake with the most going on and all nearby.,

It was absolute total relaxation guaranteed; the owner wrote it in the description and it was not one word too much!
The house is beautiful with big terrace and indeed spectacular view. Inside lots of space and attention has been put on every possible detail. Ericka who was introducing us to the house and the surrounding was very caring and gave very useful information also about where to go.
Hungary was new to us but we love it and the house and the people were definitely a big factor in this. We recommend it very much! Thank you Keith and Ericka!

Two beautiful weeks.

Those were two beautiful weeks. I would second all the below said. The house, furniture, terrace, the entire compound and the view on the lake, all that brings up high spirits and lets one relax and leave behind the prosiness of everyday work. Keith and Erica are very attentive hosts, who honestly like their guests. They made all their best to make our vacation as comfortable and unforgettable as it is only possible.
During those two weeks we made a full trip by cars driving all the way round the lake of Balaton. We were highly impressed by the thermal lake of Heviz, caves of Tapolca, fortresses of Nagyvaszony and Sumeg, zoological garden of Veszprem. Every second day we came to visit the peninsula of Tihany. Our advise would be to come there if you are looking for local rather than made-in-China remembrances and souvenirs as well as handiworks of folk arts.
You can buy fine wine in graperies of Soptei and Figula.

A very nice house

We really enjoyed our stay at this very nice new house. It is in a quiet and peaceful location with a great view of the lake (from a large terrace) ,and all the facilities you need.The open plan living area is particularly nice for families .Four couples could easily stay in comfort.

The house is in perfect condition , and very clean , we would have no hesitation in recommending it to friends ; The owner told us about a restaurant nearby ( walking distance ) 'Soptei ', it is excellent ( we ate there 3 times)
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Luxury Villa in Balatonfured

We were looking for a place to unwind with our two sons (11 and 14) after a long weekend in Budapest for a family wedding. This villa was perfect.

On booking the villa we received copious information about the accommodation and surrounding area, all of which was very helpful and accurate.

We were welcomed at the villa by a lovely Hungarian gentleman who not only showed us around the premises, but also took us on a tour of the village in his car pointing out shops, restaurants, car parks, beach and other facilities. He would also be available in case of need during our stay.

The villa is superb. Everything was new and of a very high standard. The furniture and fittings were beautiful, the bedrooms and bathrooms immaculate, the kitchen well equipped, balcony well furnished, all very secure. We wanted for nothing. There are fantastic views of the lake from the balcony, equally impressive by night as by day.

It is 5 minutes drive to the centre of Balatonfured and the lakeside beach resort. We hired loungers for the day and the boys played in the lake. There was a festival on during our stay which was lively and fun. We took a boat trip to the other side of the lake (more commercial than Fured) and did day trips to the Herend porcelain factory (fascinating), some geological marvels and the beautiful Tihany peninsula and Abbey which you can see from the villa.

Food in local restaurants was plentiful and the staff very friendly.

We highly recommend this villa. We had a wonderful time and hope to return one day.
