Balaton Luxury 4 bedroom villa, spectacular lake views -Jacuzzi

When researching for a place to stay on the Balaton, we were spoiled for choice ... there is so much on the internet these days! There are many fine options on the Balaton and Balatonfüred is one of the better ones. It is easy to get to from Budapest, has many virtues of its own, but also close to other lovely spots like Tihany and Badacsony. This residence caught our eye and I am pleased to say that when we arrived we were not disappointed. The home is beautifully presented ... high quality finish, very clean and very well appointed with all kinds of features. It has a large spacious garden that is well-tended and full of tasty fruit trees... we enjoyed some fine apricots from them when we visited in July. The home is up on the hill overlooking the Balaton and offers terrific views.. you can even see Tihany. It is situated in a small village with a small supermarket, coffee shop and bus stop that takes you to town or the lake. At first we were worried about getting around because we didn't have a car. That ended up not being a problem at all. The buses run every half hour or so (and are very cheap) and if you are game, you can walk to the lake in less than an hour. The local train station is only twenty minutes walk away, but is a small one and may not be serviced by all trains. Walking in the vicinity of the house is a treat, with some nice forest, interesting homes and two very nice traditional restaurants in the area. We recommend the Kaloskacsarda for a terrific night out, listening to live gypsy music. In one morning walk we got to meet some boat builders (just a few doors down the road) that made the most luxurious wooden sport boats. Totally amazing! We really liked staying in an area proximal to a major centre on the lake, yet removed from the hustle and bustle, embedded in a community rather than a tourist complex. It was the best of both worlds. We thought the house rental price was very good and were happy with the support given by the owners. Strongly recommended. Five stars!

A great villa in a great location. The photographs on the web site don't do this property justice. It's huge and has ample space to relax and enjoy the views or play a game of badminton on the front lawn. The lake is only a short stroll away and we planned our stay in August to coincide with the wine festival and St Stephen's day festivities...which both attract the locals. Owners Keith and Erica are extremely helpful (but didn't get in the way during our stay), providing useful information on the area and even a whistle-stop tour of Fured in Keith's motor. Internet access was also a great help when planning our train journey to Budapest and checking up on the weather forecast. Also of great benefit were Keith's selection of bikes...handy for a trip to the shops, up the hill to the forest or even a relaxing trip to a local csarda or etterem (e.g.Soptei).
In summary...a fantastic villa with quality facilities in a great location. A great place for a family holiday. Would definately return for a holiday at this property.
Just book it ! You'll have no regrets, just some great memories.

My family and I stayed at this lovely villa in June and had a wonderful time. The accomodation was modern, stylish and spacious and we were given a warm welcome when we got there. Whenever we had any questions or needed anything the owner's family went out of their way to help. The views from the balcony were perfect and when the weather turned on us we made use of the up to date facilities (digital TV, internet, DVDs, music) the villa had to offer.

The surrounding area was peaceful with some really nice restaurants nearby - I would definitely recommend this villa and would stay here again.
