Photos and Description of the Playa Avellana vacation villa rental Quinta de is 9 min from Surfing, Beach, Sailing,Snorkeling , Golf, Eco Tourism,

Quinta del Sol was designed by a local designer, from France and built in 2007. A designer who lives and works in the Tamarindo area and is very well known with the many projects they are involved with in the area. Patricks spirit of my home was to blend in some old world charm with some contemporary flair. It has an wonderful outside living space under the Rancho, made of teak poles from the land it was on and thatch from Nicuragura, where we spend a great deal of time. The main house is 2 bed 2 bath with 1bedroom 1 bath in the Cabina (guest suite) which is next to the house 25' .Total 3 bed 3 bath. Tamarindo is 9 min away and 15 min to Playa Avanella one of the nicest beaches in Costa Rica in my humble opinion. You have a new American style grocery store just built, fine dining, and just about everything you would need or want you can find in town. Tamarindo and the area is full of fun and exciting things to do, or you can do absolutely nothing, if that is why you came.

Heading south from Tamarindo there are several as-yet-undeveloped beaches, most of which are quite popular with surfers. Beyond Tamarindo and Playa Langosta are Playa Avellanas and Playa Negra, both with a few basic cabinas catering to surfers. If you are in Avellanas, be sure to stop at Lola's, a laid-back restaurant and bar right on the beach, whose namesake giant pet pig is a local legend. Lola's is particularly popular on Sundays, when Tamarindo locals and expats pack the tables here in a weekly informal community get-together.

Luxury Villa 9 min to Beach: This villa was built in 2007 ,where old world meets new world ! it is a wonderful private home that is fenced and gated, it has most all amenities that one would need, and now has internet ! what did we do before that ! the beach which is 9 min away in Tamarindo where everything you need is, Large new American style supermarket, surf shops, tours, restaurants, bars, nightlife. There is a new JW Marriott Hotel and Spa just 5 min away from villa with world class golf course also , my neighbor a golf professional who will give lessons and possible discounts at course can also can take you on surf tours or surf lessons , just ask for more info on golf -surf tours and i can get you connected. The spa is also a fantastic addition to the area and just a few minutes from the villa which i have no doubt you will really enjoy 1st class spa treatment .

Hear & see the Monkeys from your back yard : The Villa is 5 min from Hacienda Pinilla Golf club, and home to new JW Marriott completed Dec 08, the villa is 15 min to Playa Avanella where you might just meet Lola the 500 lb local pig who likes to splash around the beach and mooch beers off the customers at the little bar and great restaurant that is there, called Lola's ! it is one of the nicest beaches in all of Costa Rica in my humble opinion. The villa is in a great spot where you are close to everything , but once inside you feel like you are a million miles away from it all. Extreamly private ,peaceful and quiet ******* .

More info on the area and getting there: Tamarindo = Pura Vida: Tamarindo, Costa Rica. I have been going there for years and for a surf trips this is the place to be . The land of Imperial, surf, rainforests, eco-tourism and more, there is literally something for everyone. My first advice when traveling to Costa Rica is to decide where you want to visit before you choose your flights. Though not a large country, because of the roads, it can take a long time to get from place to place. So if you are going to Tamarindo then you will want to fly into Liberia, if you are going to Jaco or Manuel Antonio, then you will want to fly into San Jose. Typically, flights to San Jose are cheaper. That being said if you are going to Tamarindo and you leave early in the morning and fly to Liberia, you can surf that day, and also have a surf session the morning you leave. So essentially you can gain 2 surf sessions, or one day of adventure if you choose your airport accordingly. Tamarindo boasts a good night life , and 9 min from the vil

Ski: With two major international airports now serving Costa Rica, cheap flights to and from the Central American nation are getting easier and easier to find. For the rest of the country, San Jose’s Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) in the nearby district of Alajuela, serves as the hub and has flights or transfers to flights to the regional airport, for anywhere else in the country. If heading to the beaches in Guanacaste or Papagayo, Daniel Oduber International Airport (LIR) in Liberia is your best option and is just a short car or bus ride from the sun and sand. The rapidly expanding airport has added and keeps adding new terminals and runaways and soon it will be the hub airport for the tens of thousands of North Americans that have bought property on the Pacific coast. You can always take Sansa or Nature Air right into Tamarindo from Liberia, San Jose 15min and 30 min flights , then you are 10 min from Villa and can rent cars in Tamarindo

Golf: An excellent golf course virtually “in your backyard” completes the exclusive atmosphere for lovers of this sport. This is a true, 6,800-meter masterpiece by Mike Young, who has designed some of the finest golf courses in the southern United States. His characteristic emphasis on detail led him to build a course where each hole was designed to conform to the slopes and contours of the natural landscape of Hacienda Pinilla. The frequent risk/reward situations offer different challenges every time you play and the trees, apart from offering refreshing breaks, also represent natural obstacles. The El Corral Turn House is the Pro Shop and it has its own restaurant. It is an excellent structure because in and of itself, it represents the passion for golf while allowing harmony with the environment and the sport’s tradition go to www.turfsafari.com or www.roberttwine.com my neighbor and friend who will certainly make your visit a great one with respect to golf .At Hacienda Pinilla you’ll have no trouble discovering the mysteries of nature’s attractions. Rivers, lakes, beaches and wildlife refuges surround the residential development on a property which in itself is an extensive dry tropical forest, home to a wide variety of birds, insects, amphibeans, reptiles and mammals ranging from toucans and butterflies to frogs, turtles, iguanas and monkeys – all of which can be seen right there along 16 kilometers of picturesque nature trails.

Dream house

fuzzytraveler Burbank, CA
Review Submitted: June 27, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We (4 adults and two kids, age 3 and 1) stayed at Quinta del Sol for a week in June and we loved everything about this villa, from its modern design to the natural setting in the midst of the rain forest. We loved waking up in the morning and hearing the howler monkeys and birds chirping away. I especially loved preparing breakfast or lunch in the kitchen overlooking the veranda and the beautifully landscaped backyard. My children were never tired of running and chasing after butterflies in the front or back garden or looking at ants carrying a load of leaf on their back heading home to their nest.
As the weather was so warm, we could literally dip into the pool any time of day. Yes, it did rain almost everyday during our stay, but only for a short while, and we loved the rain plus it's just simply refreshing after that. Basically, we've enjoyed our trip to CR very much and will definitely be back.
A caveat to this villa, however, is that it is in a very remote place where all other developments are being on hold and down a dirt and pot-holed ridden path (perhaps this will change once the JW Marriott and the Hacienda are completely built out) where your neighbors are much poorer than you’re so it's not for everyone. As such, staying at this place will require you to stock your refrigerator and prepare a few meals (or order a chef) as it's not just a "zip" in and out of town. (We took full advantage of the kitchen as well as the grill.) If you're not into nature and have qualms every time you see geckos, beetles, ants, or other insects around you, then this place is not for you. Perhaps you should check in the Playa Hermosa area instead where all the brand name resorts are at your disposal. But then you'll be missing out on what real CR is all about, nature and wildlife.
Owner's Response: Thanks for the kind review and your honesty, to me when i am there i zip into town 5-6 times a day and think nothing of it but understand if you are not used to it , it may seem longer than it really is also depending on what kind of car you have too !! i hope you come back soon , we really like people who want to see the real costa rica , and not the 4 Seasons and really enjoy the villa for what and where it is as i say if i wanted a bunch of neighbors on top of me i would have built somewhere else ! See you soon !

Great Home away from home!

Review Submitted: June 12, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
Me and my wife went for our honeymoon and the place was fabulous. There was great outdoor space and a grill to enjoy the wonderful weather that Costa Rica has to offer. The private pool was the best feature since you would never get that at any resort. Probably the best part of renting this villa was the staff of people that run the place. They are very knowledgeable of the area and have plenty of tips to make you feel at home. When I go back I will definitely love to rent with them again.
Owner's Response: Hi Adam , Thanks for your review , and we wish you and yours all the best ! Thanks for coming to stay with us I know Claudia said you had a blast and want to come back , so anytime just give us a call or email ! We love to have people who like to enjoy themselves , and go with the flow ! Thanks again ! JD

Absolutely Worth It!

ITHank San José, Costa Rica
Review Submitted: June 7, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
When we were looking for a place for our family to stay, Quinta del Sol stuck out from the rest. In person, it was everything we were hoping it to be.

We really enjoyed the absolute quiet, the patio was where we spent 90% of our time in the house, eating, relaxing, and just generally hanging out together. The pool was a wonderful draw, especially after a hot day out wandering around the area.

We could not more highly recommend it to anyone looking for a similar combination: quiet, clean, relaxing and close to anything you would like to do in the area.

Not what you see!!!

Dirtymartini Kauai, Hawaii
Review Submitted: June 5, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
My family and I went to Costa Rica for a week in May 2009 and stayed at the Quinta del Sol Hernandez. The house was infested with ants, no where near close to the beach,
unmaintained dirt road to get down to access the house and very much away from everything. The first day we were there two guys show up and say they were with a landscaping company but they didn't have a truck or any type of tools. Once I told them I was calling the property manages they took off running. Don't bring anything you don't want stolen....this house is very much off the beaten path and subject to break-ins. The electricity went out every time it rained and the last time it went out we had no water and didn't get any before we left. I recommend that you try somewhere else to stay that is closer to the attractions and where it is more secure. This home is great for people who want to stay at the house and not venture out and that don't mind doing without electricity.
Owner's Response: It is exactly what you see ,this is in response to this review which was very negitive , i am the owner and my property managers worked above and beyond the call of duty with this guest ,bu several things need to be cleared up first and for most my villa is as safe as just about anywhere in the world , besides being fenched and gated it has a alarm system and we have never had a problem at the villa with respect to that and this client had nothing stolen or robbed, so i do not understand why she says this stuff, a small ant problem was there it was attended to by property managers and fixed at once same as fan in bedroom , the ac worked but the last guest did not tell us fan broke, a minor thing in my book ,we have aux water tank, the power was out because of big storm everywhere and power was out all over Tamarindo area nothing that unusal if you have ever been to CR , we put them in a condo because they were afraid of the dark at my expense we are in a country setting as the ad
describes and guanacaste is know for its dirt roads and i can tell you they are much better now than they used to be and it is just 9 min by car to the beach just like i advertise not 9-or 10 miles, as far as the people who show up in uniform are with the lanscape company who come every week and sometimes more if things need to be done they are the best same as the pool guy , and my property managers have been in Tamarindo for a very long time and everyone loves them and this client told them everything was great ! So come join the many happy people whom know how to go with the flow ,its not always perfect in Central America but that is why a lot of us love it there it is a beautiful place with fantastic people , 5 min down the road on a dirt road is the JW Marriott Hotel and Spa and Hacienda Pinilla Golf club off the beaten track as well just the way we like it and presisely why i bought and built this villa had i wanted to be in town in the crowds and traffic and noise i would have .
so if you are needing paved roads and room service, afraid of the dark, gekos, or anything else, sorry ! we have a maid , and private chef , and we all like to have fun regardless of the power-which i have no control over that or the weather , no control over that either but the sun shines about 345 days a year we all try and make the best out of our vacations and hope you do as well , so let us know about any concerns you may have and we will be as honest as always with our guests
