Whidbey has become home to many writers and artists and Coupeville, the second oldest town in Washington State, has much to offer with its waterfront restaurants, shops and farmers market open between April and October. These are only a few of the attractions you will find here. Located in the 'rain shadow' of the Olympic and North Cascades we measure one of the lowest rainfall amounts in Western Washington.
Check out the video of the view from the closest beach in December, one of the colder months. Even then the vistas are beautiful. But don't forget to bring your windbreakers, it can get windy, it is an island after all!

My husband and I fell in love with Whidbey We love the life style and pace that island living affords us.
Whenever we can, we walk on the beach a mile and a half from our home, and never grow tired of the wildlife and beautiful views of the Sound, the Mountains and prairies near our home.

The view from this home is incredible - even better than the one from our own home. We put a lot of work into making this vacation home everything we would want in a place we chose to stay. We hope you find it that way too.
We are only a half mile away and make ourselves available to our guests if they need us.
My wife and I and my Brother and Sister-in-law spent a lovely weekend (even in the rain) at the Mt View Home. It was charming and comfortable in every way. The property was very, very clean when we arrived. There was a complementary cheese platter and bottle of wine for our enjoyment.
We enjoyed sleeping in and getting up when we wanted. We cooked breakfast in the fully outfitted kitchen then went our merry way to explorer the Island. We felt like we were coming back "home" each evening.
This is a lovely vacation home and I would recommend it to anybody.

Beautiful, fully equipped home. So clean and well maintained, with a lovely view across the lake to the Olympics. With the rainy weekend, we really enjoyed relaxing in front of the gas stove, reading and visiting.
My brother-in-law is already anxious to come back for a longer stay.
I was a little nervous choosing a vacation rental on the Internet, but we were making last minutes reservations. We were pleasantly surprised by the lovely cottage. The hosts, Sande and Peter, are warm and welcoming. They contacted us before our arrival and were easy to reach throughout the stay. The cottage was impeccably clean and well appointed. Sande wrote us not to bring extras and, indeed we found many supplies in the bathroom and in the kitchen including good quality staples. Great coffee, by the way! A delicious tray of snacks was left in the refrigerator for us. We enjoyed the snacks with a bottle of red wine that the hosts graciously provided. I was happy to find an excellent Wi-Fi connection because I had to work on a project during our vacation.
We found maps of hiking trails and general information. The hosts left clear instructions on how to settle down and check out.
It was easy from the cottage to explore beaches and go bird watching. We took lots of pictures at Fort Casey and Ebey Landing.
We plan on visiting again in spring when the rhododendrons bloom.
My kids and me wanted a nice place to stay over for Christmas( I live in Mexico )the house was very clean ,the kitchen had everything you could need ( I am a teacher CHEF) so when say kitchen had everything I mean everything .cheese plater and wine was so very nice!!! Owners were very nice very helpfully but never in the way was best time ever kids loved it fireplace was a big hit . Will use house again and recommend to anyone that wants to spend a quite time on whidbey island!!!
The house is so cute and clean! The owners, Sande and Peter, keep the kitchen well-stocked for those who like to cook while watching the deer eat apples and chase bunnies in the backyard (or one of the adjacent backyards). I was impressed that the bookshelves were stocked and I found quite a few really good books! The house is also very close to Ft. Casey State Park which has so much going on, you hardly know where to start. Going into the park you see the old gun battery with watchtowers and cannons, there is a lighthouse, a huge field for kites, and plenty of picnic tables. We spent the whole first day there and had a great time! On our way out we stopped at Double Bluff Beach, which was amazing and would only be about a 10 minute drive from the house. The beach is sandy but we found many seashells buried in it as well as in the low tide. The water on this particular beach does not get deep very fast or have very large waves, so you can wade out pretty far without worry. All in all, it was a great time. Thanks!
The house was a perfect home base for our exploration of the lovely little towns and sights of Whidbey Island, and jaunts off Island, through the San Juans, and onto Vancouver Island, BC. The house was immaculate, like new, and well appointed with a wonderful view and quiet location. Truly a cozy and comfortable home away from home. The owners were always available if needed and I would definitely recommend this charming vacation home to anyone.
