When searching for a really last minute rental this year I discovered St George Island and Lefty's Jewel. First of all, Danielle was great to work with and everything was up to par from the very first email I received from her. In addition, I cannot say enough good things about this property. It exceeded my expectations in every way! The house is comfortable, tastefully decorated and just very inviting. It had absolutely everything we needed for a perfect stay. The upper deck provided wonderful views of the gulf (we saw dolphins just about every day we were there) and the pool was very clean and well maintained (the pool was serviced twice just during our stay). The lower decks are shaded, private and a lovely place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or drinks in the afternoon. This area of the island is beautiful, the plantation seems like a nature preserve--an owl even landed on the top of the house! We were lucky enough to see it from the top deck. I don't want to say too many good things because I don't want anyone to book my week for vacation next year ; ) It was a perfect relaxing beautiful place and I look forward to our next visit! In the area, I would recommend traveling to Apalachicola. "Papa Joe's" was a great local eatery and there are several cute stores for shopping-"The Green Door" was my favorite! The Apalachicola Estuary Nature Center was a neat (and free!) place to visit and would be great for those traveling with kids (we enjoyed it as adults) : )

Relaxing Vacation

Myself, my husband, my friends Kat & Debbie along with Kat's maltepoo thought Lefty's Jewel was an awesome place to stay on St. George Island. Such a homey feeling...like it was our own home away from home. Danielle, the owner, was very helpful with any questions I had prior to and while we were at Lefty's. If you are looking for a comfortable home just steps from the ocean with a lovely view (from the balcony upstairs...where we spent lots of our time) then Lefty's is the place for you. While there you must eat at the Blue Parrot on the Island or any of the restaurants in Apalachiacola (such a cute town). Highly recommend Lefty's Jewel & St. George Island and we hope to return soon.

House was amazing, all the extra’s you would possibly want, cooking utensils, pots, pans, and everything needed to grill. We had a wonderful time at the house; it is in a really amazing location. I could sit on the front deck all day long and look at the ocean and did one day :) Having our own pool was great, the clubhouse looked brand new but sometimes got crowded so it was nice to have something to go back to. Thanks for adding the dining furniture to the outside deck, we ate outside twice and it was fabulous. Will defiantly come back hopefully sooner than later. The communication with the owner of the house was great, she answered all questions prior to arriving at the house and was prompt when getting back to me even when we arrived.

Recommended for: Pet-friendly, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children

We had a very nice stay at Lefty's Jewel. The house was clean, kitchen had everything you would need,the bedrooms were big and each bathroom had plenty of towels, bedding ect,, There was plenty of essentials, lots of extras, Bikes and all beach essentials, pool was nice, Great place to stay, short walk to get to beach (close) to beach. Recommend Lefty's Jewel very highly.

We had a great time at the house. It was as advertise and the kids had an amazing both at the beach and at the pool. We would have liked to have a patio set on the balcony to eat outside that's the only thing that would have made it perfect. The kids room is Spacious and the master bedrooms are comfortable as well.

Owner's Response: Thank for your kind comments and suggestions. As a result, we have recently purchased an outdoor patio dining set that will be placed on the balcony. We certainly hope that you will visit again and enjoy dining out on the balcony. Best wishes to you and the family.
