We welcome you to our quiet neighborhood and very comfortable home. Our balcony has a beautiful view of breathtaking Mt. Sopris where you can have a BBQ,enjoy a glass of wine and sit back and relax. All rooms have wireless internet as well as all the amenities you would expect. The bedrooms are nicely appointed with comfortable beds and cozy linens.
Across the street down Staircase Park is access to the Crystal River. It features gold medal waters from where many fishing guides depart. If you enjoy hiking, Mushroom Rock is just minutes away. If golf is your game, in 3 minutes you're at beautiful River Valley Ranch Golf course where you can enjoy a round and take in the incredible mountain views.
Our home is nicely situated within walking distance to downtown Carbondale - the perfect place to enjoy one of the many diverse restaurants and then catch a movie or a play. My husband, Bill, and I are just a phone call away and are happy to answer any questions you might have or point you in the right direction as you enjoy the wonderful Roaring Fork Valley.
Carbondale is a beautiful, quaint town with interesting shops and art galleries. It is situated between Aspen (25 miles) with its world class skiing and Glenwood Springs (12 miles) with its world famous Hot Springs Pool.
WOW - we don't want to leave! LOVE the place - perfect - everything - beds, linens, towels, furniture, kitchen, "patio! Great bike rides all over town. Fun rides into Redstone, Marble, Aspen, and a day at Glenwood. Super restaurants in town & the view off the balcony at Hattie Thompson was to die for!
Thank you- we will be back & recommend your place :-)
I have stayed in many vacation rentals, and this was by far the best one yet! The property is immaculate, well kept, spacious, nicely appointed and beautifully decorated. The decks were perfect for morning coffee and evening sunsets- or grilling dinner. The towels and linens are top of the line as is everything you need in the kitchen. A perfect family retreat- beautiful and comfortable. We have always stayed in Glenwood, but after our stay in Carbondale- we are hooked! This property is literally 4 houses from the best bike trails in Colorado- you can ride all over town, up to Redstone, into Glenwood or all the way to Aspen- any level of bike rider can enjoy the bike paths. We rode our bikes everyday and always rode them to breakfast or dinner. Carbondale has some of the best restaurants too- White House Pizza, Russets, Village Smithy Restaurant- best breakfast ever, and Hattie Thompson at the River Ranch has a multi-million dollar view off the deck. Carbondale has some very fun shops as well. Some of the best fishing is in the area too! Guides take their clients fishing 1/2 block away from this property but my husband just had to walk down the street to enjoy, or a short drive up the road and he was fishing Crystal River, or 1 mile down the road and he was fishing the Roaring Fork River. Just a few miles away is Basalt where the Frying Pan and Taylor Creek are the top places to fish in Colorado. We enjoyed an easy and scenic drive over to Aspen, where we spent the day shopping and trying out their food- the Meatball Shop and Paradise Pastries are the best! Redstone is 10 miles away from Carbondale and worth the ride up to visit the old, historic town- be sure to visit the Country Store. Everyday at 1:30 is the Redstone Castle tour. Take your suits when you go up that way and stop at Avalanche Ranch and soak in the hot springs. And of course, take one day and go into Glenwood and enjoy the world famous, hot springs pool- only 15 minutes away! Or if you have strength and stamina, hike Hanging Lake- it is well worth the sore muscles! Obviously, I cannot say enough about this property or the owners. Wendy was great- meeting us when we first arrived and telling us all the town had to offer and showing us the property. Very welcoming and committed to making our stay as enjoyable as possible. There is a wide variety of music CD's and DVDs to enjoy during your stay. I wish we would have been able to stay longer but we will be back! Thanks!
We were amazed at the beauty of your place in Carbondale Colorado. The kitchen was loaded for gourmet meals. We did a lot of cooking and just as much eating out at all the wonderful restaurants in the downtown area of Carbondale. The style and decor were beautifully carried out throughout the home. We had more room than we needed. The views from the home of Mt. Sopris were amazing.
The owners, Bill and Wendy were wonderful host and made sure we had everything we needed, I feel in love with the surroundings and the locals to include Bill and Wendy Cahill that made us feel so at home. Please keep doing what you are doing. All was a wonderful experience.
We will be back next year.

I wnated to come to Carbondale to Climb Mount Sopris, and to watch the USA PRO Cycling Tour. Upon our arrival Bill and Wendy met us at the door. They were immediately very gracious and were very interested in what we were going to do and filled us with a ton of insider information that only true locals would know.
The house itself is beyond compare. The living area is ultra comforatble, beautifully decorated with amazing artwork. the kitchen is immaculate (the whole house is spotless) and has everything you need within arms reach. The bedrooms are just great. One bedroom upstairs and one down made for each party having more privacy than I"m used to when I go out of town. I'm a big matress guy and that is the first thing Iook at when I rent a place. Little did I know that the top of the line linens and Tempur pedic mattress would conspire to keep me in bed later than intended. Most comforatble bed I have ever slept in. The view from my Bedroom window and the deck is of Mt. Sopris. For me it was sobering knowing I was going to try to tackle it, but it was also wonderful to see it at sunset, at dawn, and throughout the day. Water was hot and pressure was good!! The air conditioning worked wvery well, and was easy to operate. Bill and Wendy also provided written instructions on how to operate the tv and VCR (this seems to be missing in some rentals, but not here). The nieghborhood is dead quiet at night, and pleasant during the day with people on bikes cruising around all day.
It is situated within walking distance of the local market, and just a little bit Firther is the center of town with a bunch of great places to eat (ask Bill and Wnedy, and they'll clue you in on the insider info)! I have stayed in a bucnh of Home away places, and this by far was the very best.
It is worth noting here that I was injured climbing sopris (I made the summit!). Bell and Wendy went far beyond the call of duty by locating immediate emergency care, and Bill actually drove me to the ER, and waited while they fixed me up. Staying in this extraordinarly comfortable and beautifully appointed home made our trip that much more enjoyable. It is also within striking distance of Aspen, Redstone, Marble, Glenwood springs.
I just can't say enough about the home and the proprietors. It is PERFECT!!! I would recommend this property to couples, families or individuals looking to explore the wonderful area around Carbondale. Were coming back next year and bringing the bikes!!
The accommodation was extremely comfortable and beautifully kept: a really pleasant place to stay with everything you could want, including an outside deck, where we breakfasted most days, and an open area downstairs too. The hosts made us very welcome and provided useful information about the area. Carbondale is a great place to stay with magnificent scenery all around: Redstone, Ashcroft, Maroon Bells, Rudei to mention just a few places worth a visit - and Aspen too, of course. We recommend a visit to the rodeo too: a real taste of the West.
Bill & Wendy have a wonderful home in which to stay. The kitchen is well-stocked, there are private spaces for guests and a wonderful deck on which to enjoy breakfast and dinner. It's also a wonderfully quiet place away from the heart of town and highways, yet close enough to bike or walk to dinner. Wendy & Bill really have made this a lovely little getaway and a perfect place from which to explore the entire Crystal Valley.
Bill & Wendy were the most gracious hosts and made my stay very comfortable - their lovely abode is definitely a "home away from home"!
The view of Mt. Sopris from the easy chair was beautiful - nothing like sipping your morning coffee and meditating on the surrounding beauty of this very special place. Not to mention the master bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in!
I look forward to visiting Carbondale and Aspen again in the near future and will definitely reach out to Bill & Wendy again when I return.
