In a picturesque valley with vineyards , lush orchards and acres of ranch land, Epicurean Cottage is nestled in the heart of Santa Ynez Wine Country. This comfortable four bedroom home was fully remodeled with 'epicurean' guests in mind.
Unpack your bags, slip into your walking shoes and head to downtown Los Olivos, where a leisurely pace permeates the mood of locals and visitors alike. Wine tasting rooms, gourmet eateries and clever boutiques and galleries line the streets. Traditional Western architecture and hitching posts are reminiscent of an era gone by. Stop and pick up fresh produce from local farmers or visit a gourmet market to stock up on everything necessary to prepare incredible meals back at the cottage.
The gourmet Kitchen is clearly the heart of the restored ranch style home. Granite counters, natural slate, and color washed cabinetry offer a designer-style backdrop for creating a memorable culinary experience for family and friends. The addition of professional appliances, prep sink and abundant counter space adds to the smart appeal of this kitchen. Join the chef while sipping on a favorite Pinot Noir from Santa Rita Hills, or nibble on fresh local goat cheese from Los Olivos Grocery. The Living and Dining rooms share a bright open space with warm wood floors and soaring truss beam ceilings. Comfortable wicker chairs are tucked in a cozy corner. Behind the antique dining table is a wall of handsome French doors that open to the patio and rose garden .
The adjacent Family Room with flat screen TV, fireplace and stereo system is conveniently located near the kitchen. French doors open to the outdoor dining patio, making an easy meal transition from the kitchen.
The Master Suite is a bright and romantic space with high beam ceilings and plenty of light. The Master bathroom features a luxurious air jet tub and large walk-in glass block shower. A walk-in closet includes convenient desk space and access to the pool patio. The attached den with TV and queen sofa sleeper is a great place to keep young ones nearby or stay close to pool activity via the sliding glass doors.
Three other bedrooms in the main house offer comfortable accommodations and share the elegant hall bathroom. The largest of the bedrooms, just off the kitchen, includes a king-size bed and flat screen TV. The other two bedrooms are each appointed with queen-size beds and armoire clothing storage.
A small room off the garage has been converted to an informal pool house/bedroom with a day bed and trundle, providing a cozy alternative for sleepy teens or overflow guests.
Spacious and sunny, the large, flat green expanse of lawn in the back yard, invites a barefoot family game of tag or a fast paced game of Frisbee. But, if you prefer the relaxed lifestyle, enjoy the cool waters of the solar heated pool or lie in the hammock for a well-deserved afternoon nap.
The sun sets directly over the nearby foothills, creating a peaceful vista as you return home from an invigorating day of hiking Figueroa Mountain, biking to Lake Cachuma or exploring the other riches of the Santa Ynez Valley.
