The Adobe offers a spacious, comfortable vacation home in a spectacular Rocky Mountain setting with all the amenities. Just out the door you can walk down to the water, stalk trophy trout, kayak, bike and hike. Or simply relax and take in the panorama of the water, South Park, the Rockies and the Colorado skies.

About The Owner

We own properties in Colorado and a ranch in Patagonia, Chile. We are drawn to waters, fly fishing, kayaking, sailing, skiing, biking, hiking, hunting and adventurous destinations.

The Owner purchased this house in 2007
Why The Owner chose Hartsel

Access to the Dream Stream, Eleven Mile Reservoir and State Park with seclusion and expansive 360 degree vistas of water, forests, rock formations and the Rocky Mountains.

What makes this house unique

We can walk out our gate into the State Park down to the reservoir or into the forest in areas of the Park rarely visited. We can fish and hunt on our own property or access the park for the same. We can fish the evenings during the peak season on the Dream Stream when the other anglers have left and have 5.5 miles of river to ourselves. We also have our own stocked trout pond. And the views are spectaular of water, snow capped peaks and expansive Colorado skies and sunsets.

Water water everywhere, we are located next to 11 Mile Res. and are within a radius of 45 minutes to access more public water in the S. Platte drainage than anywhere in Colo.:

Dream Stream 8 min, 11Mile canyon 15-20min.; Spinney Res. 15 min. Antero Res. 30 min. Middle Fork S. Plate 25 min. S. Fork S. Platte Tomahawk State Wildlife 30 min.; Tarryall Creek 45 min. to name a few.

Fish the Dream Stream in the evening when everyone has left.

Our long weekend was so peaceful. The hiking was great. We weren't too lucky catching fish but there were some huge ones visible in the non fishable coves. The views were awesome and the weather was great. The pool table and ping pong was a great indoor entertainment when we were worn out from hiking. Thanks for sharing your property.

We had a very relaxing stay at the Adobe.. Everything you need to get away from the hustle and bustle of your lives.. We went on hikes, fished, played horsehoes, games and ate great food...Super quiet, safe and lots of fun.. We will be back!

Awesome Secluded Retreat

Great place. The house is very nice. But, the biggest selling point is the land around it. The house sits on 35 acres of private, fenced land, and backs up to (possibly) hundreds more acres of state land. We hiked each day in a different direction with our dogs and didn't come across another person. Great place is you are looking for a secluded getaway. And, the water is right there too.

Fantastic place to stay with family. The views are spectacular as is the adobe. Everything was clean and the interior is spacious and comfortable.
David was great to work with and even provided a Christmas tree! Thanks David, we will definitely come again.
