Cozy and Affordable Apartment in the Great Location
My husband and I stayed for 5 days... We were actually delayed at airport in BWI (Maryland) due to government issues, which caused us to miss our connecting flight and we lost a day. We were bummed about this, because we paid for 4 nights. However, we explained to Sara and she allowed us to stay an extra night. Airlines changed our return date to a day later, all was back to normal.
Apartment seemed a bit dusty, as if no one had stayed there in a while and floor seemed it had not been mopped, but I wiped down a few things and all was great!
Balcony is not a balcony at all. Just sliding doors that wouldn't open. That was something we didn't expect. The outside of the glass doors were beyond dirty. So the view out could have been better. Hiring a window cleaner would spice the place up and make up for the fact that there is no balcony and glass doors not opening.
Night clubs were scarce. Not too many to choose from in the area. If you like hip hop and R&B, you wont hear much of that at any night club on Ashford Ave.
Wikiki Oyster Bar and Grill is a rip off. Servings are small for the expensive menu price. Nice view, but food was not reasonable.
We arrived and picked up key from guy in parking garage. All went smooth checking in!
AC was great! No issues. TVs, cable, internet all working! Kitchen was well stocked on everything you need. Stove was great for cooking. Bed was oh so comfortable and waking up to view every morning was breath taking.
Buses come around the clock and for .75 cents you can go all over San Juan. We went to Ocean Park on the bus, It was about a 15mins ride for just .75 cents. Ocean Park Beach was nice! We visited neighboring hotels and gambled at the nearby casinos. Beach right across the street-- a few blocks down was the best in my opinion.
You can take alcohol with you to beach and not have to be worried about being questioned.
Locals are helpful and nice.
Police officers are on most blocks and area seemed over all safe. NO issues.
24hr Super Max grocery store is about 15 mins away. We bought food, 1 gal and 1 ltr of alcohol for the 5 days, which cost only 80 bucks. We cooked most days and ate out a few.
There are convenience stores just right of the apartment and Walgreens, which is 24hrs as well. Burger King, Wendys, and a few other fast food places all 5mins walk.
We didn't rent a car either and got around just fine.
Beach chairs were at apartment
Washer and Dryer and detergent
All cleaning supplies stock
