Holiday getaway or pied a terre for working visits to London. Suits single, 2 couples or 1 child family. The flat (35msq) is a recent addition to the house below and incorporates modern appliances for self contained living including:- fully equipped kitchen (fridge, microwave, gas stove and oven); bathroom (wet room with shower and steamer unit); desk area (full internet access); living/dining area (dining table and chairs); outside deck for sunset dining (3.6m x 2.5m). The bedroom area is set into the rear of the studio and offers privacy from the separate living/kitchen area which has a comfy double sofa bed. The studio is very bright and has views of both the sun rise and the sunsets. London can be dull and grey but only rarely in this flat. Access is via an external spiral staircase from a courtyard garden. 10 minutes stroll from Finsbury Park tube. 15 minutes by tube to central London/the City (Victoria Line or Finsbury Park/Crouch Hill rail)
Landlord assistance: The landlord is easily contactable. He or an agent will be available by mobile phone and happy to assist with any booking requests or day to day tenant need to the best of their abilities.
Access to the Property: Access to the flat is via an entrance from the street into a courtyard garden shared with the flat below. Access to the top floor apartment is via an external spiral staircase for the renter's exclusive use. The spiral staircase takes you to a lovely terrace and entry to the flat is through an entrance door off the terrace
Enjoy London: The flat offers a hassle free and easy base for enjoying London for a long weekend or a pied a terre to stay while working in the City. The West end is only 30 minutes away door to door and the City the same. Finsbury Park has enough amenities and open spaces to enjoy a weekend in the area and the flat is pleasant to spend time in - sun all day long and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The nightlife attractions of Shoreditch, the East End and the West End are easily reached by public transport or taxi (approx. £18 by black cab). Most Central London attractions and transport links (museums, theatres, landmarks) are well connected via bus lines and the Picadilly and Victoria tube lines.
Loved our month stay in this apartment. Even though the central heating was on a timer and the sun was going down at 3:30pm and the heating didn't kick in till 6 or 6:30pm, we found we were warm. With the combination of sun pouring in during the day and a portable oil heater, we were more than comfortable. All windows had rolling blinds and some had venetian blinds inside the double glazing as well. There were also 2 lovely large curtains covering the west facing glass doors for even further privacy, so there was plenty of versatility in managing the light. I did not hear one neighbour and even though it blew a gale some days, we felt so secluded up there. The hot water and presure was good, the bath towels and tea towels were a little old and used and there was no bath mat ... but we just bought our own bath towels and used the drying rack and paper towels in the kitchen and kept the mop behind the shower curtain to give the wet room a quick squigy after each shower... I'm thinking a bath mat would be completely useless any way with the amount of water that gets around. The layout of the apartment was spot on, fitting so much into such a small space, yet it felt so open and spacious, must be some kind of wizardry. However the layout had a flaw and I found myself eyeing off the size of the window in the bathroom in case of fire and the one only entry and exit was blocked. The need for a key to get out of the fence downstairs also triggered off my fire safety alarm bells, but enough of that. The mattress was comfy - it's a double mattress and our friends stayed over a couple of nights on the fold out couch and said it was fine. There is a good lot of storage space, shelves along the wall, wardrobe with shelves, under there bed and a bulk head over the bed that we were able to hide our suitcases away in once we unpacked. There is a good little robotic vacume cleaner that I used nearly every second day, however there is no washer/dryer so cleaning your clothes is a bit of an issue. The dining table extends out to make it a bit bigger and there's everything you need in the kitchen except a potato peeler. We loved the balcony and it perfectly faces the sunset, we sat up there and watched the birds during the day and the foxes on the street a night. Thanks so much for being the perfect host Max. Charming unique stay near Finsbury Park station (about 10 minutes walk). Beautiful modern alternative interior. All you need is around within 10 minutes (pubs, supermarkets, transport, etc.). Very nice look over the neighborhood from the top (it's a pretty quite part of London).
This is such a great flat. I write and use it to work in. It's up on the roof top facing south guaranteeing as much bright sunlight as possible in otherwise dull London winters, you won't notice how miserable it is out there - even the rain sounds lovely on the glass skylight this morning. In summer one whole wall of the flat opens up with bi-fold doors onto a sweet terrace. The owners/manager are a delight to deal with, reliable, generous and always helpful. Finsbury Park is easy to get to and from, the neighbourhood is safe and well serviced with good independent shops, pubs and restaurants, there's a gym at the end of the street and lots of Yoga nearby. Hampstead heath is a 30min walk away up the Parkland Walk. This is a great flat to live and work in, and a great base to explore London from.
Stayed 2nd time in this flat -- just great. The flat with nice set-uo, the location and the easy booking policy. Recommended for stays in London as the area is quite interesting and affers great connection links to all the must-sees of the city.
5 stars because everythig works, calm, bright, safe, silence, clean. We were 4 adult persons from Denmark - Parents and 2 doughters.We enjoyed our stay a lot, kind and helpfull hosters, Max and Adrian. I have already recommanded this property to friends. Very fine and accurate description about the flat and facilities.
I stayed for a few days with my children and i found this studio absolutely perfect. Good links to downtown, good restaurants nearby.
