It is a property that faces the Pacific Ocean on one side, and the estuary, with a beautiful view of the National Park El Imposible and volcanoes on the other side. The beach side has a thatched roof huge area, with hammocks, eating area and living room. At the side of this thatched roof is a pool. On the estuary side of the property is another huge thatched roof area, where there is a sunken living room, and next to it a kitchen and a barbecue area. Chamba and Morena will take care of you. Chamba is in charge of the boat, and Morena helps with the kitchen and bedrooms. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, microwave and toaster oven, as well as cooking, serving and eating utensils. The house is ideal for two families with their respective children.
The proeprty owner will not take any responsability for any accidents inside or outside the property. The Pacific Ocean can be dangerous, and we recommend for you to use extreme caution, swim in the esturary, the river mouth, and/or wear a life vest.

We had a wonderful stay at La Barra. The house is spacious, clean and very comfortable. The kids enjoyed the pool and the adults of daily massages and fresh oysters. The view and peacefulness this spot has is spectacular. Five days was not enough!! Highly recommended.
Stayed at the home for around two weeks - had a beautiful time - it was always very relaxing with beautiful open spaces to lounge. We traveled as a family with 2 adults and 3 children (two teenagers and one child - two have autism). We hired a cook (via the owner) for a very reasonable fee and would do it all over again. We felt like we were away in private resort at all times. It felt special and safe. Chamba and Morena take excellent care of you and the rooms every day. Our driver who was recommended by the owner was incredibly knowledgeable and reliable. We felt safe with them at all times. The fishing trips were great and the kids loved it. All the reviews below are incredibly accurate. I feel like reiterating those points will only incur you more reading. You will have a beautiful time here.
Had an unforgettable weekend with my family in this beautiful beach house. It has a nice design, a construction with quality materials and special details. All three rooms have air conditioning and there are a lot of hammocks and a hanging bed. In the front, the beach is nice and in the back part of the house there is a beautiful estuary. My kids loved being pulled by the boat on the towable tube and did some waterskiing. Through the estuary you can also reach and visit a protected mangrove forest area, which is a dream. We entered one of the channels with the boat, surrounded by the impressive forest and saw different kind of birds and a big crocodile. We also had fun with the boogie boards on the waves and tried to practice some surfing. The service of Chamba and Morena was outstanding. We look forward to rent this house again.
Daniel's house in la Barra has become the new happy place for my wife and 2 children (ages 3 and 5). How to I begin to describer perfection??? First, the property is simply immaculate. The bedrooms are clean, with comfy beds and good air conditioning. The bathrooms modern with showers and plenty of warm water. The sala by the kitchen is awesome. My kids loved the hanging mattress and hammocks, or sitting listening to music while playing. The pool (and outdoor seating area) was great! There are hammocks and a great dining area - nothing like dining by the Pacific (or, by candel light dinner by the estuary!)!
Second, the surrounding area couldn't be more relaxing but there are things to do... You can swim in the ocean or the estuary; kayak, take boat rides with Chamba (who runs the property and he and his wife are so kind and sweet) to see crocs in the mangroves. We also visited the local school and health clinic, which was pretty cool!
One of my favorite activities was to float in with the tide (while having a beer). There is nothing more relaxing and fun!!!!
Simply put, this location is exceptional for quality, value, relaxation and service. If you are looking for heaven on earth, look no further!!
I came with my family and 3 of their friends, so there were 8 of us and we couldn't have had a better stay. The location is fantastic, with the Pacific Ocean on one side of the property and an estuary on the other side. Walk out of the house, turn right and walk a little bit on the wide open beach and you come to the "bocana" or mouth where the ocean and estuary meet. It's an incredible piece of nature. The house itself fit our needs perfectly. The kids all stayed in the large room and had a blast together, while my wife and I enjoyed our privacy in a luxurious room with a modern bathroom design. The main gathering points were either on the ocean side out front by the pool under a spacious rancho or in the middle of the property where there is a sunken outdoor "living room". Daniel, the owner, was extremely helpful before and during our stay - giving us tips on what to do and was very accommodating. The couple that takes care of the place on a day to day basis, Chamba and Morena, couldn't have been sweeter. They were always available for any of our needs, but never intruded on our privacy. There are all kinds of things to do and we tried to do as many as we could. Of course we went in the warm ocean and lounged by the pool, but we also went water skiing, kayaking and one night went in the mangroves for a sunset dinner on one of the local floating "ranchitas". The house and grounds are kept spotless by Chamba and Morena. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone! We will come again!
We've been travailing to Central America on several occasions. We've done all inclusive hotels, eco resorts, etc, but it was the first time we decided to rent a private residence outside of US. And I have to say we had the best accommodations by far of all the other places we stayed at. We came with 3 children (12, 10, and 3) and their grandmother. This place has to offer something to every age group. The ocean side is perfect for boogie boarding, building sandcastles and watching sunsets. The estuary side is great for water sports (use of small motor boat with a driver is included if you pay for gas) such as water skiing, long boarding, etc. We also went snorkeling, fishing, and crocodiles watching (in faraway mangroves) The pool is clean, warm and excellent for relaxing. It had a shallow end were our 3 year old could play. All of the outdoor living areas are very comfortable and well thought through. Our daughter was taking a nap outside in a hammock every afternoon while her grandmother was enjoying a book in a cool breeze at the ocean side of the property. The family that was taking care of us was very attentive and tried their best to meet our every need. Unfortunately we speak very little Spanish and they spoke even less English, but somehow we were able to communicate without any major problems. Daniel (the owner of the house) was extremely helpful and answered every question we had for him regarding his property and traveling in El Salvador in general. He has recommended an outstanding guide to show off some of the highlights of the El Salvadore and we have been very pleased with all of our trips. The property itself is very comfortable, well maintained and clean. Every room has an AC, but we kept ours off for most of the nights because it was cool enough with windows open. Each bedroom has its own bathroom with a shower. Overall property is very comfortable, well decorated and cozy. We felt like we spent a vacation in our own private resort and with an outstanding service. We are definitely coming back.
