Situated on the edge of Zone 1, close to two Tube stations and with frequent buses to Waterloo, Westminster and beyond, it is the perfect base for a vacation exploring London.

Both Tube stations are a 10-minute walk away, or take the bus and be at Tate Britain, Big Ben, or Westminster Abbey in 10-15 minutes!

The house is situated in a safe, quiet, residential street and with space to spread out and relax (a scarce commodity in most London holiday apartments) it is perfect for families, couples, or larger groups. On quiet nights you can even hear Big Ben strike and the River Thames is just a short walk away.

The new American Embassy is being built nearby, very close to the impressive MI6 building.

Please note that this is a traditional British semi-detatched house, not an apartment. You occupy the whole house, so no noisy neighbours above, or below!

There are two 'Local' express supermarkets 5-minutes away, plus cafés, delis and restaurants, all within easy reach. There are also two gyms nearby to work off the calories.

The property has recently been totally refurbished and is supplied with everything you'll need to make your stay stress free and comfortable and cut down on your luggage.

There is a small, but fully-loaded kitchen with dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave and fridge/freezer.

Upstairs, are two large bedrooms, each with a king-sized bed and remote-controlled ceiling fans, a smaller bedroom with full sized bunk-bed and a family bathroom with bath tub and power shower.

Downstairs there is a shower room, a lounge with double sofa bed, ceiling fan and flat screen TV and a dining room (seats 8) leading out to a patio garden.

Baby cots and inflatable beds can also be supplied on request. The house is centrally-heated and double-glazed.

Linens, towels, bathrobes and 2 hairdriers are supplied.

The house sleeps 8 adults (in beds/sofabed, plus we can provide 2 extra cots for infants)

For relaxing at night, a selection of DVDs and Xbox 360 games are available (please ask, as we like to offer age appropriate films and Xbox games), as well as books and games.

Free Wi-Fi is available. Also supplied are two pay-as-you-go phones for you to use during your stay.

Some basic food stuffs to get you started are included, such as tea, coffee (instant, decaff and filter), milk, bread, eggs, butter, cooking oil, olive oil and condiments.

If you would like us to have your own shopping ready for you when you arrive we can arrange that for a small fee of £10, or you can order it online and have it delivered and we will put perishables in the fridge.

If you have any special requirements, please let us know and we will do our best.

Check in is 4 p.m. Check out is 10 a.m.

If you are arriving early, we can look after your luggage until check in time, so you can fit in some sightseeing.

We try to be as flexible as possible with arrival and departure times.

There is a total no smoking policy in the house, but guests may smoke in the garden.

Daily Parking Permits can be arranged, the current cost is £5 per day.

We are nearby, so always on call for any queries.

Quelle belle maison !!!

Nous sommes venus a 9 (4 adultes et 5 enfants) et nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Bev et Jeff nous ont très bien accueillis et nous ont donné de bons conseils pour notre première visite de londres.

La maison est très accueillante et idéalement placée pour une visite de Londres en bus ou en métro.

Je recommande vraiment cette maison .

Absolutely Great !!!

Our family of 5, which includes 3 teenagers, rented the property for 5 nights and could not have been more pleased. Notes:

* Great location, less than 5 minute walk to the bus stop. Bus 77 will take you to London Eye and on to Waterloo Station. Bus 87 takes you over the Thames and through Parliament area onto Trafalgar Square. Sit on top of the 87 for great London views. Both buses stop at Vauxhall, which has a tube station.

* Price and Size; I thought it was an excellent value. You will appreciate the ability to spread out and relax after a long day of touring London. I do not think our trip would have been as enjoyable if the 5 of us had to go back to a cramped hotel room(s). WIFI included!

* Bev and Jeff are great people; very nice and friendly, eager to help you and answer your questions. They are also experienced travelers, which benefits you as they understand your needs. The kitchen comes with basic food (bread, milk, juice, coffee, eggs and bacon) for your first breakfast (saves an initial trip to the store), kitchen is stocked with condiments, spices and oils, umbrellas and rain panchos are provided, Oyster cards (you may have to charge them, but you save the £5 cost per acquiring each card; you leave the cards behind for the next guest) and guide books.

* Email correspondence was promptly replied to. All financial affairs were handled per terms.

Our family highly recommends this property. When we return to London, we already know where we are staying.

Home away from home!

I recently stayed at this property with my family, that consisted of 3 teenagers and 2 adults. We were met the morning we arrived by Bev and Jeff and they walked us through all the details of the property, as well as suggestions on where to visit outside of the city. They also supply you with the basics to get you started, which was a great help.

The property is located in a very safe area, very close to the Vauxhall station, as well as a bus stop that will take you right to some of the main attractions. I can't say enough about this place and the owners, you will not regret your decision to stay here.

No More Hotels for Me!

When I travel, I usually prefer full-service hotels. I have not had great experiences with vacation rentals in the United States. Some were too cluttered with the owner’s own paraphernalia, as they only rented out certain weeks of the year, some were dusty to downright dirty, some were spotless, but expected you to cart everything to the house (all linens, bath supplies, cleaning products, condiments, etc). If there was a problem, you had to go through the rental agency and hope someone would respond. None of these made for a great vacation experience in my mind (or a relaxing one!).

So when I first heard of this house in Lambeth, I didn’t really consider staying there…until I started hearing and reading the rave reviews. Poking around the VRBO website and seeing the lovely photos and reading all of the details, I decided to take the plunge. Happily I was able to reserve the house for my short stay in February.

As advertised, Bev met me at the door…despite my arrival at the very early hour of 7:00am. She gave me the grand tour, showing me how everything worked and where everything was. The house was positively spotless with every surface gleaming.

I asked Bev about stripping the beds and cleaning up when we left and she responded that was not for us to worry about. Honestly, it was the best of both worlds…a private home with the service of a boutique hotel!

I was a little concerned that I would feel like I was too far away from the center of London (on my last trip I stayed at Charing Cross in the thick of things), but that was not the case at all. As advertized, there were two busses that would whisk us to either side of Westminster Bridge in ten minutes or less. It couldn’t have been easier to get around. There are also a ton of restaurants and pubs in the area if you want to grab something quickly.

I am always a little sad at the end of my vacation and leaving London. For the first time I was also sad to leave my house (notice I said MY, lol). It will be a couple of years before I get back to London, but I know for certain where I will be staying!

If you are traveling to London, look no further than this house. Bev and Jeff are the ultimate hosts, offering everything you could possibly need during your stay. Their communication is outstanding, and they provided many tips before we arrived including where to order our Christmas meal. The even allowed us to have presents delivered to their home. Bev and Jeff are well traveled and put a lot of thought into what they would want in a guest house. We had a Christmas tree, decorations for our table, food in the refrigerator, oyster cards for the metro, cell phones to contact them at anytime, blowdryers, umbrellas, an xbox, robes, slippers, and every travel guide ever written about the city. The house is on a quiet, residential street, and the bus stop is about two blocks away. The metro is about a 10-minute walk but the bus drops you off at the station. The grocery is right around the corner. If you wanted to walk to Big Ben, it is a little over a mile and a lovely walk along the Thames. Bev and Jeff are people you feel like you have known your whole life and the house is exactly as shown in the pictures. We will return someday and have told our friends about the house.
