This very peaceful and quiet house is located on North Beach Eleuthera in the Current settlement approximately 7 miles from North Eleuthera airport. The view from the house is overlooking the Atlantic Ocean which you can see the beach below and spectacular sunsets. The beach is beautiful white sand and stretches approximately for one mile. You can swim in the crystal clear water and walk the beach to find beautiful shells, sand dollars, starfish, etc.
This house has a wheelchair accessible bathroom and ramp to the beach. There is an outside shower for when you get done enjoying the beach you can rinse off before heading into the house. We have bicycles with baskets, fishing tackle, rods, reels and 2 person 13 ft Kayak to explore the island .
I am very partial to Eleuthera because this is where my grandparents were born who were fishermen and farmers on the island. I love the water in the islands. You will love the islands when you get the sand in your shoes and the saltwater in your veins.
*We are members of Vacation for Veterans. we support our military and donate our home to wounded soldiers and their families to enjoy. www.vacationforveterans.org

We just got back from our trip to the Hisbisic House and it was absolutely amazing! From before I booked the trip until we left, everything was wonderful! The owner is a very nice man. Always very responsive when I sent him a message, which I really appreciate. Before I booked I asked him to call me so I could ask some questions and he did so very quickly and spent an hour on the phone just giving me information and answering my questions. From the time we got there James Munroe, the caretaker, met us at the airport and brought our rental car. Which I highly recommend you pay the extra money and get the car. James was a nice man but he recently got a full time job at a dive shop and was hard to get a hold of. Still was nice to know he was available if we needed him. The house is very nice. Older home with some updates but everything is clean and well taken care of. When we got there, the owner called to be sure everything was ok which was a nice touch and he called again right before we left to see how our stay was. The house is equipped with everything you would need. The kitchen has all the dishes, pots, pans, etc. to stay in a cook every night if that's what you wanted to do. The beach at the house is beyond amazing with some of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever see! Big and sandy beach with beautiful calm waters right in front of the house. Only steps away to your own private escape. Loved the tiki hut on the beach to get out of the sun for the day too. Overall we had an amazing stay here and I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you Mr. Sweeting for an amazing experience!
Jack, the owner, is a real southern gentleman and as gracious as they come! He called and made sure we arrived ok and again a couple of days later to make sure we were happy with everything. The house is on the most beautiful and non-touristy beach with lots of quiet and privacy. I took a novel with me to unwind but found that when I was not in the perfect water, I was gazing at it and could not read a word for all the beauty around me. The house is well equipped with everything you might want and Current is not far away to find veggies from stands or Lower Bogue for other things. James Munroe is Jack's property manager who is attentive to all needs, offers advice, and generally makes you feel like he is there for you at all times. He took us snorkelling, with 75 year old Mom and 85 year old Dad and was so gentle and caring with them. I think he is a teacher/guide at heart and is one of those special people who can help you slow down time and appreciate every moment. God bless and keep you both for taking such good care of us! We are planning our return and it can not be soon enough! Jack, thank you for opening your home to us and James, thank you for your heart which you share without hesitation!
We visited Eluethera for 2 weeks in Feb. Two couples sharing one house and looking to be tourists along with exploring fishing opportunities. This place was everything we expected and more. Although the pictures show it to be very nice, "it's better in person". When you first see the Property from the Driveway your impressed already. The inside of the house impresses you more and is beautifully decorated with unique touches. Then the ocean views with Palm trees from both the bedrooms and living room will make you smile. Finally, when you walk down the short path and reach the powdery white sand beach, you will know you've found a real Gem! Waking up every morning seeing the ocean from your bed was a real treat. The Owners of this place have put a lot of thought into supplying amenities to Vacationers that most don't. Things like two seater Kayaks, Binoculars, coolers, pedal bikes, etc. The Kitchen is stocked with more things than you would ever use. It just seemed like every time we needed something, they had it. The Beach is very private with only a handful of homes along it and it was a very unique experience to be able to meet so many friendly people. We can't over emphasize that enough as we felt like we had found the friendliest place on earth. The Locals were also very friendly and you find yourself waving and saying hello to everyone "Hey Mon" and "Ya-Ya".
The homeowner called the day we arrived and followed up a few times to ensure everything was OK and that in itself shows you how much they care about your experience. The caretaker for this house, "James Munroe" is the icing on the cake you get when you rent this place. He will help you out with anything you want and genuinely cares about you having an enjoyable time. He is also an excellent fishing guide that knows the best spots and is simply one of the nicest human beings you will ever meet.
We would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to get the most out of there Vacation.
Eluethera takes a few days to get fully comfortable with as it is an "out Island" and isn't your typical fancy high end resort vacation spot, but once you immerse yourself in the lifestyle, we found it to be a wonderful experience that we will never forget.
The Hisbiscus house was fantastic. It had everything that you would need. Jack the owner called to make sure we had everything and that he was always available for any questions. James Monroe picked us up at the airport. He stopped at the grocery store and liquor store on our way to the house. He showed us the town of Current and how to get to the beach park. James also had a vehicle we could rent and he brought us some fish all ready filleted. If you needed anything James would try to get it for you. James was terrific. The beach was very nice and easy to get to and we liked the wi-fi that was available at the house. We recommend this house for individuals that want to just lay back, explore and be on island time.
We (4 adults) had an incredible week on Eleuthera. The Hibiscus House was not only a very comfortable residence meeting all our needs, it is located on a spectacular beach with an amazing view. The residents of the island were very friendly and helpful. The charm of the island is the lack of commercial tourism. If you want a relaxing vacation, this is the place!! But there are enough things to do, you should not be bored.
James Monroe, the caretaker & awesome guide from Current, took us bonefishing and bottom fishing - lots of fish and lots of great memories. He also made a conch salad that was incredible.
Thanks Jack for the wonderful escape from reality!!! It was truly an amazing place that we will never forget
The descriptions, pictures and great reviews are true. This is a beautiful location, immaculately kept. If you are looking to be out of the way, in a private beach setting, with clear turquoise waters and fabulous sunsets, you have found the place. The owner, and James, the caretaker, are very considerate and helpful. All the people we encountered were friendly and welcoming. You can stay here, out of the way, or venture off to see other sights, as you choose. I hope to return, for a longer stay
