Info for Culture Enthusiasts: Needless to say the area is full of fun things for the culture minded. Apart from the galleries and museums there are art fairs, flea-markets, ArtHamptons art fair in July, the many events and lectures organized by the Vinyards, the renowned Author Lectures at the Quogue Library through July and August, and the many concerts and peformances throughout the Hamptons all year round. If you're feeling creative yourself you can set up a studio at the Birdhouse. Last summer I bought 100 lbs of clay from Nancy Robbins in Sag Harbor and we set up a work table outside. Then we fired the pieces in her studio. Art supplies for whatever you want to make are easily available in Riverhead--a 20 min drive away.

Info for Winery Enthusiasts: The Long Island Wine Trail is a terrific way to have fun. The various and multifarious Vineyards and Wineries organize events all-year round including food and wine Tastings, lectures, art shows, Winemaker's walks, concerts, Vinyard tours, and multi-element dinners. Most of the vinyards are a 15-25 minute drive away.

Info for Sports Enthusiasts: I wish I were sporty because the possibilities seem endless. My husband has gone deep-sea fishing with the children on a chartered boat. My sons go surfing and have had lessons at Hampton Watersports where you can get equipment and lessons in kite-surfing, wind-surfing, surfing, stand-up paddle board, sunfish sailing, and kayaking. There is waterskiing, jet-skiing, tubing, etc in nearby Shinnecock bay. My sister has rented kayaks in Riverhead and paddled the Peconic and said it was wonderful. There is horsback riding at the nearby Pony Farm in East Quogue and karate/yoga/fitness nearby in East Quogue and Westhampton.The best thing, I think, is a walk on the beach.
